PC gamers, give us some huge lovin'

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 7:33 pm

I watched the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSRtYpNRoN0... and... well... all I can say is I had a nerdgasm.

Anyway, watching the video for the 5th time or so, I saw some roof's, started to notice the flat textures on the ground, rocks and other stuff. So I thought to myself... "What if Bethesda actually took their time to add Dx11 for PC gamers?"

I think that it would make this game the perfect RPG, both gameplay and eyecandy. I mean... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpdPSZB8A8E http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-6lRteSD2A

Wouldnt that be amazing to have that in Skyrim? So please, for the love of TES, please add Dx11 for PC's!

I'm pretty sure it'll have DX11 support. Many games are already getting it right now and Skyrim doesn't come out until November. We need DX11!

I saw some motion blur (very first scene only slightly and not from a characters cam), but im not sure if that was just added for the vid or not, at least that might be something.... maybe..

Already been confirmed for no special PC support, so if the game does have DX11 support, it won't be using it for much.

The trailer is 360 footage so it almost certainly looks better anyways, DX11 support notwithstanding.

I wouldn't mind DX11, but I would love proper multicore support and better use of available RAM if it exceeds 2GB :)

So i guess there won't be DX11 in TES V ?
As i see in the trailer the graphics are really nice but there's no Tesselation. Wonder if they'l make it DX11 + tesselation because those look amazing and add much more realistic look of stuffs :)
Maybe anybody heard about anything regarding DX11 ?

DX 11 can still be in but no tessellation.
Tessellation does hit performance you know.

We don't know for sure yet if DX 11 is in. We'll have to wait for devs to answer...

I didn't. Perhaps you should quote my full post instead of two words.

Well in AVP 2010 tesselation doesn't really hit my performance... atleast for Nvidia 400 series :)
TES Games are always very well optimised and they may make it run well even with tesselation on ATI cards.
Well... also... Tesselation is always just an option :P You either enable or disable it and choose what's best for you GPU :)

Indeed. Proper use of all my hardware gains is a much better idea than worrying about Direct X 11 (especially since there are going to be a significantly larger population of people that have more RAM/multiple cores than people with DX11). As long as we get the higher resolution textures for PC and AA/AF I really don't mind otherwise with the visuals. If there's anything that will truly irk me, there will be mods for it.

your entire quote was DX11 can still be in but no tessellation.

So, why do you believe there will be no tessellation?

I really hope bethesda is supporting dx11/tesselation... those flat areas (roof, ground, walls, bricks) are really annoying... im tired of seeing flat textures on 3d images and would like to be able to optimize my computer spec with skyrim :(

Call the waahmbulance. They're not catering the alpha game to my enthusiast hardware!

Except he's stating he DX11 could make it in and that he doesn't WANT to see tessellation because of the FPS drop it generally delivers. Didn't know reading comprehension was so smegging hard.

Exept the fact that from DX9 (console) to DX11 a great deal would have to be reprogrmed ?
Forget it PC will happy if skyrim even get account of 5 programable mouse's buttons .
Forget HDR
Forget DX11
Forget Tesselation
Forget Crisys 1 or 2 gfx quality.

No it doesn't, not used how skyrim would use it. Tessellation is designed to *save* performance by only drawing what detail is necessary. In Oblivion, an NPC 5 feet away was as detailed as one 50 feet away, and a LOD mesh was a LOD mesh regardless of whether you were in the cell next to it, or across the map. Tessellation would bring both better performance, and better visuals.

I would love that too, and it should due to the fact that there are so many quad core CPUs out. There's no excuse for them to have lousy threading like Oblivion.

I have zero experience in programming, and that includes making a game of my own in DX11. I'm not sure if you have made a game in DX11 so you would know.

From what I've heard, when you "convert" something made on the console you need to re-program it anyway concerning DX.
And from what I've heard as well, DX11 isn't that hard to implement.

No sources, just from what I've heard on the Interwebz.

Ok, for the hundredth time, you won't see the game with high res textures, AA, AAA, DX11 and tesselation, high quality shadows and so forth in these trailers and screens because these were taken from the 360 version, of course it doesn't have any of that because the consoles don't support the new tech. We will have to wait but I would stake my life on it that there will be DX11 and tesselation.
