EB GAMES - NO COLLECTORS EDITION

Post » Sun Aug 07, 2011 8:39 pm

I went to my local EB GAMES shop today and asked if i could upgrade to a Skyrim Collectors edition. I was told that EB GAMES got all the copies of the CE in Australia. However, they are really limited. My shop only got 5 of the editions, all for 360. He proceeded to explain to me that he rang all the other EB shops ( he went on for about 5 minutes) and they only have a few. I am really dissapointed that people in Australia cannot recieve a copy. He told me that the other shops only had like 2 or 3. :banghead: :banghead:

Isn't EB Games owned by Gamestop? And isn't Gamestop usually loaded with stuff? Wow, talk about getting the shaft.

I guess EB games is Gamestop's international branch...I used to love them, but then the local EB got replaced by a Gamestop. It didn't make a difference to me, really.

I'm going to have a meltdown if this is the case!

I pre-ordered from them under the knowledge that I would upgrade to the CE when it came out. :brokencomputer:

That's cuz EB boycotted the sale of a $10 dollar statue made in China and resold for $60 dollars in America(or more elsewhere)

They did the same except with a cd they charged the horrible Empire Earth 3 for $85 that was a massive waste of money

I will be spewing if I dont get my map and my fancy art book. The Alduin statue I will probably give away or I will put it in my freezer to keep him dormant. Last thing I want is for him to slay me in my sleep.

But seriously, Im positive you should be able to buy a CE from overseas and it would work on your 360 right? Ive never had to, but I cant imagine there are regions or is there? I mean if its in english, whats the problem?

While PS3 has region free gaming, 360 does not guarantee region free for any of it's games - so keep that in mind if ordering from another region for the CE.

My local Eb Games (Queanbeyan, Canberra) has 30-40 Skyrim Pre-orders and only got 7 Collectors Edition........ WTF!!! Sold out all across Canberra.
So at $100 for the standard and $200 for the collectors, they could have had $8,000 but instead they're going to make half that $4,400. Great business stratagey on their part.

Supply and Demand my lilly white ass!

Where I live there were only two ME2 Collector's, so I'm probably not even going to bother calling and asking. The typical response to, "Why so few!?" seems to be, "It's a limited edition for a reason".

At my local store, they had like 10 ME2 Collectors on the shelf after everyone got theirs. So it was by all means, not that limited, especially considering it costed an extra $20 - $40, whereas this one is like and extra $100
