some of the best games i played were free for me. that includes games like

• dust: an elysian tale
• SR: the third
• SSF4: Arcade edition

?it also highlights some of the best games ever, (Rainbow six: vegas is a great example)

?but really, i think deals with gold is just to counter steams deals (which, from what i hear, are killer deals)

the service could definitely us some improvements but, i won't dwell on negativity.

Sleeping Dogs is a favorite of mine now, but I wouldn't have played it without the program.

Xbox Live Gold has nothing to do with Steam sales but a counter for what Play Station Plus. Sony has kicked themselves in the [censored] so many times because Microsoft got away with Gold and Sony didn't. Sony knew they were going to charge for Multiplayer just like MS did so they had to "add" something to "sweeten the pot" so people don't get upset. It seemed to work, since Sony is giving better "free" games than MS is.

Then again the games from Sony are not really "free" since once you stop paying for PS+ you don't have access to those games no more. With MS you keep the games even if you don't have Live Gold anymore.
