Pretty sure there are mods to "help" the graphics. More inquiring on gameplay and mechanics.
I actually just played through the entirety of the original Deus Ex about 2 years ago, and I absolutely have to say it was great. Controls were fine, graphics were fine, it was a very enjoyable experience, every bit as fun as I remember it being when I first played it in the early 2000's.
Yes, I should give it a try again. I know I tried it a few years ago as a trial and didn't like it, but I don't remember why exactly .

I'm no big fan of Steam-required games, but noticed ARK: Survival Evolved on sale for $16.49US yesterday, 25 Jun 2016. I've been moderately interested in it for some time. At that price I decided to take the plunge, though I doubt I've ever play it more than casually. It's a large download. With my relatively slow DSL connection it's gonna be several days before it's totally downloaded and playable.
If I were to choose one of Pillars of Eternity or Divinity Original Sin which should I choose and why?
The story of Pillars really isn't any better, and unlike Divinity, it does not have the humor or tongue-in-cheek style to make up for it. And its quests and combat system is nothing to write about either. In general, nothing about Pillars feels inspired; it's like the devs had no real passion for it. Which is strange, because this was a Kickstarter project where Obsidian had free rein to create their own world, characters, and story without having anyone breathing down their necks.
