Games That Developers Owe Everyone An Apology For.........

Silverfall. I should get my money back, because six dollars is six dollars too much. Horrid dialog translation, buggy, TAGES drm, enemies respawn the moment you leave the cell, useless quest dialog choices (that don't actually affect anything), a broken "moral" meter system... And their construction set is hardly intuitive and usable. Not only that, but the dev's don't even maintain their forums anymore, so there is no where to go for help. Absolute p.o.s. game I wish I had NEVER purchased.

Skate 3, for me. Was expecting a whole lot more than worse graphics than the previous games. Gameplay was mediocre too. With Skate. I at least felt that I wanted to try everything out at least once.

Everyone, for making them so darn expensive. I know games cost money to produce, but the more media coverage and mainstream they get, the more expensive they turn out to be, specially dumbed down sequels. Although there are a few exceptions, everything is a nauseating sequel nowadays...

While I don't have it, Bethesda should be sorry for the PS 3 version of Oblivion. Not fixing the Vampire bug is pretty shamefull for a company like Bethesda. Who do they think they are? Activision or Atari? Shamefull, really shamefull.

That's only one bug... albeit a potentially problematic one. The PS3 version of Oblivion is otherwise very well done, from what I've experienced, and according to what I've read, the extra year taken to get it out actually resulted in some tweaking and optimization that made the PS3 version superior to the 360 version in load times, general performance, and graphical quality. The real mess was the PS3 port of Fallout 3's DLC... which do not make up a game. It just seemed as though the DLC triggered some memory leak that ended up in not so good results, but Fallout 3 before that was fine, as well. Bethesda owes no apology for the PS3 version of either game. I assure you of this as a PS3 player. The DLC situation is a bit different, however. I don't know where they screwed up, but that DLC was sloppy and induced something in the game's software resulting in severe file growth that wasn't there in the original version of Fallout 3.

Some of the games are worth the price. Most aren't, in my opinion. I typically like to wait until a brand new copy of any game is down to $30-$40 (half to two-thirds of the original price)... although some games I've bought for that price seem to be worth a full $60 (Demon's Souls, for example), but I'll gladly and unquestionably pay a full $60 for an Elder Scrolls game and the next major Fallout game.

Fable, almost all of the newer Mortal Kombat games, all of the Sonic games after Sonic Adventures (and maybe SA 2), except for Sonic Colors (which I hear is actually GOOD), Deus Ex Invisible War, and too many others to count.

Mario Galaxy 2,

The first one was good, but the second was nearly more of the same

Did I mention Black Ops?

Sonic Labirinth, as the only bad Sonic game that Ive played, despite what other people have to say about the new ones (SA1 and SA2 are overrated)

DMC3 PC port, the same with Resident Evil 4 PC port

Resident Evil 5 (good reviews my butt)

Not the game in general, but Square should apologize for Chocobo racing in Final Fantasy X. Why are those birds so angry at Chocobo riders?

No Caladbolg for me I suppose. :meh:

Ahahaha. Yeah man that was nigh impossible, sheer stroke of luck that I got that weapon. 0 seconds on a race, imagine that.

Also, I don't really have that many games that I dont' like..and close to none that I'd say developers should apologize for making. If anything, I'd say Test Drive 2 Unlimited devs should apologize for releasing a game with a save corrupting bug..that could make your game go kablooey just like that without any forewarning and at random even if you weren't saving. But they did apologize for that so yeah, nothing for me.

have you played the Sonic game for the DS by bioware? It's actually an incredibly good game. I keep hoping they will make a sequel to it.

I disagree, SMG2 was probably one of the best games I've ever played, ever.

Aside from, you know, all the game mechanics which make it completely different from Call of Duty. It's not even out, I don't get how you can say it is the same as Call of Duty.

There's controversy about Homefront? News to me. Last gaming controversy I heard about was the news-media-manufactured "http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/02/09/will-bulletstorm-murder-your-children-no/ and also make you kick puppies" nonsense. Haven't heard a peep about Homefront.

Basically its whole advertisemant is pretty much "its war... In the US" and adverts use teh recent political tensions in Korea... and the opening scenes try to show the Koreans to be as soulless as possible.

what games do you think warrant a public apology to the entire population of the earth because of the pain and misery they have inflicted on a global level? first ones that immediately popped into my mind in no particular order.......

rogue warrior

fable 3

deus ex 2

force unleashed

AvP......the new one released last year.

shadowrun........the MP shooter released a few years back......NOT the awesome game on the sega genesis.

two worlds 1

gothic 4

im sure there are worse ones but i can only comment on the ones i have played myself.

Whats wrong with Force Unleashed? And Fable 3 wasn't that bad.

I don't get what they are trying to prove, Bullet Storm is by far NOT a childrens game.

I hate this controversy [censored], I still think that it is [censored] that people [censored]ed about being able to play as the Taliban in Medal Of Honor forcing the developers to change it. People will do anything for a little fame or money these days.

Also if there is Controversy over Home Front, I Better buy it before they give it a bad name and remove it from shelves. The game looks amazing.

So they're not going for the "Koreans are people too, just like Americans" angle I take it?

Universal Combat. So many wasted ideas buried under a horrible interface and more bugs than Imhotep's tomb. Honestly I'm just trying to get the post count up. No offense to the OP but I'm getting sick of seeing this thread.

Divinty 2 Ego Draconis, It could've been a decent game but Larian ruined it by having non respawning enemies, you don't find out how hard the enemy is until your right next to them and a broken 360 version that requires a patch just to play the game. Worst game I ever played.

Fable 3, A complete joke I hope Lionhead radically transforms Fable 4 or I won't get it. Oh your character doesn't die we just want you to have fun, If I wanted to do that I would've read a book or play an RPG that I'm a god in like Oblivion and even that still challenges me if I'm not careful. The Graphics are an improvement but that's it.

Rogue Warrior was terrible, The setting could've been an incredible story and a possible RPG or at least a decent shooter but nope Rebellion completely (Censors) it up.

Dragon Age Awakening, Seriously did Bioware even test it for bugs or glitches. I like Bioware but I'm losing faith in them and as long as EA owns them they will never pass Bethesda Game Studios in terms of being the best RPG developer. Witch Hunt was also horrible.

Fallout New Vegas, Obsidian Owes me an apology for not waiting 3 months to fully test it for bugs. I like New Vegas a lot it's fun to play but it's completely mindblowing how you could allow a game to go gold with that amount of bugs. I hope Bethesda Game Studio never makes that mistake.

Yep,

The plot was overall superb

But the way of gameplay was awful

Also, Sonic X Amy, Best-Romance quest-Ever

(I cannot expect less from Bioware anyway)

Bethesda does the testing and the patches, Obsidian develop the game and future DLC.

Also, it was rushed for 2 years, Bethesda Softwork wanted it for 2010, when it could be better in 4 or 6 years

I hope Bethesda Game Studio never makes that mistake.

It happened 2 times

Dagerfall wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back (you cant win the game without AT LEAST, getting one glitch)

Oblivion: At least the PC and XBOX, crash every 3 hours :obliviongate:

Nope, each of them seems to be a soulless killing machine with no humanity whatsoever, and they love to show it with constant execution, brutality, forced labour camps, etc.

hell most dosent make sense, like for no reason shooting that woman, and leaving her kid... Why ? Oh right, to make them look evil.
