Games you really love, but you are really bad at it?

Post » Fri Dec 12, 2014 9:13 am

So, I svck in Street Fighter. Love the game but if I go online or harder settings than normal I will probably take a beating. I am no master of stealth either. So MGS3 I was like trying to sneak my way out but always ended up shooting everything that moves. I think everybody do have a game you really love but you don't know how to play it very well

Starcraft, both games. I love them so much, but I get my ass handed to me all the time lol.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1tUcfhKO8A. I can barely clear the first island in Crossworlds :swear:

Such a pretty looking and sounding game, but my troops always get brutally murdered in it. Even on easy

Mount and Blade: Warband. Never managed to grasp the combat, especially on horseback.

Alien: Isolation.

... It's a sign of either a really good game or really bad player when you have to put the thing down for the forseeable future because you're too scared to keep playing.

All the quests on a timer in GTA, Candy Crush, Prince Of Persia, you name it. I like to play slower.

Combat flight simulators. Il2, Rise of Flight, X3 - you name it. Feck knows why I've pre-ordered Elite Dangerous since I'll just be cannon fodder for any passing pirate.

Smoke me a kipper, I won't be back for breakfast.

Chess.

I always entered the tournaments in school but I always came dead last, haha.

IL2 Sturmovik, Supersmash (ok I wasn't super bad, but I wasn't great either). Mortal Kombat, those are the ones I can think of right now.

Me too! Love it but I probably couldn't beat the original games campaign without cheats. Starcraft II was much easier, though.

Another game I love that I svcked at is morrowind. If it were not for that health cheat on the original Xbox, I probably would never have beaten it.

Many games. Left 4 Dead, for example. None of the guns feel like they match my playstyle, melee does but is a great way to get swarmed and killed. I get wrecked on anything above easy or normal.

I do well with Civilization and Bethesda games.

Borderlands 2

Imagine playing Skyrim's main quest 3 times in a row and each playthru the game automaticly changed the difficulty from Expert(NVHM) difficulty then Master(TVHM) then Legendary(UVHM) and you can't change it.

You just die a lot.

Hahah, I'm playing through it on my Vita, so I feel your pain, although I'm only on my first playthrough. Seems like Co-op is almost required (but Gaige is really useful for solo, it seems, since Deathtrap can keep the aggro off you), and the difficulty only increases further as you level up. I die a lot.

I love Civilisation, but I'm fairly terrible at it. Either I try and be militaristic and get left behind technologically and culturally or try to be scientific and cultural and get goomba-stomped by a militaristic nation,

I'm similarly bad at military-focused RTS games like Starcraft or Company of Heroes. In most other games where there is some manner of society building or economics (e.g. Rise of Nations) I'm pretty good, but the games that are purely tactical I tend to svck at.
