since HD ports and remakes have become the norm lately in the gaming industry (which I am not really happy about, I sorta would prefer if they made "New" games), I was wondering

What old games would you like an HD port or remake of?



I gotta go with Skies of Arcadia.. it was my favorite game for the Dreamcast, and one of the top JRPGs of all time IMHO.. and considering a working copy of it these days literally sells for Hundreds of Dollars, I am sure a port would make SEGA a truck load of $$$
however.. I don't see it happening.. while its a great game, it wasn't widely available for people to fall in love with (as the Dreamcast wasn't around long, and the GC port was only released in limited quantities).. so sadly I don't think we will ever get a port or remake of it..
although, it was nice Vyse, Aika, and Fina got Cameos in Valkyria chronicles...




Anyways, what games would you like to see an HD Port and/or remake of?

Remake Battlefield 2142 plox.

Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. This game seriously needs to have its draw distance increased.

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. And Digital Devil Saga while we're at it.

Suikoden II. This game needs to be re-released outside Japan in some form, period.

Vagrant Story, Chrono Cross and Parasite Eve.

I still will NEVER understand why they gave us Suikoden I for PSN, but not Suikoden II. Ugh, I least I still have Suikoden V. My Suikoden II copy is so old, sometimes it wont play.

Seriously underplayed game.

I would not be surprised if someone makes a mod for TESO that replays then entire main campaign from Morrwind only this time it would be on TES: Online . Well FF X and X-2 got the HD remake so I'll go for FF VII HD.

MMOs don't work that way..

guy at work has a Theory that Square has a team locked in a basemant somewhere working on a FF7 remake for every current and next gen consoles, and if they ever start to go under financially they will release them all as a shot of Adrenaline to their stocks..

Suikoden 1-5 HD Collection would be so awesome. Well, 1&2 should be in their original pixel glory, but 3-5 could be improved with higher resolutions and stuff.

Shenmue 1&2 HD (and 3 ) would be nice too.

Dragon Quest VIII, beautiful PS2 games that surely would be even more beautiful in a higher resolution and stuff.

Panzer Dragoon 1&2, SAGA + Orta HD Collection would be awesome too.

System Shock, classic game from 1994 which means there are some clunky bits here and there compared to modern games.

Threads of Fate, with Mint, possibly the greatest protagonist ever. It's also a PS1 game so I guess the textures needs to be improved quite a lot.

Wouldn't turn down a Wing Commander 1-3 HD Collection either.

Oh, and finally I want to see an english release of the already existing Yakuza 1&2 HD Collection which was released in Japan 1.5 years ago (and Yakuza 5 too).

There are also a bunch of PS1/PS2 games I want to see on EU PSN where a HD port is less important, like Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Odin Sphere, Musashi: Samurai Legend, Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven and others.

Sega knows that Shenmue 1&2 and Skies of Arcadia are the two most requested HD ports, but they really gone down the drain lately unfortunately. Just 3-4 years ago they released a lot of awesome games, but nowdays they got nothing.

Anyway, Skies of Arcadia HD would be nice, and I would certainly buy it, but since I can play my GC copy on my Wii without any troubles, it's not that important to me

I know but there are people on YouTube that could make a fake video showing a Morrwind HD remake using TES: Online Morrowind region---if that place is available.

Jet Set Radio Future needs a beautifully cell shaded HD remake. I know they did Jet Grind..but Jet Set was an Xbox Launch!

That's funny, because that scenario is EXACTLY what created Final Fantasy in the first place.

I would love to see a remake of Descent II, considering I've never stopped playing the original.. I've only taken breaks from it since it's a game I can finish in a day.

I've never had a large collection of games, so there aren't a lot of remakes I would care for.. if there were remakes of console games I used to play made for PC, I'd buy those though.

Would like to see a visually upgraded Planescape:Torment and Vampire: The Masquerade. Right now I'm looking forward to the May release of Age of Mythology. I'm not a huge fan of strategy games, but I loved that one.

Eh. I'm more in the middle of the two boats... I like some remakes while dislike other. My favorite though so far is "Halo Anniversary", which was one awesome remake! Kept the awesomeness of the original Halo while at the same time adding awesomeness from the newer Halos to it without harming it... Plus the map remakes for Reach would a great addition...

Anyways. To answer original question. I would like to see "Arena" remade to fit The Elder Scrolls image better. (The big problem with "Arena" is the lack of freedom. I don't mind still ONLY having fast travel to towns and dungeons but that lack of freedom was a game-killer for me).

Morrowind

I would like them to remake the original 4 Tomb Raiders. They were my favorite honestly and they did a good job to remake the original Tomb Raider actually.

Colony Wars series: This old PS1 gem was impressive back in the day and would be awesome in HD.

The entire LoK/Soul Reaver series. I would like to have them all on one console.

I actually enjoyed the latest tomb raider, but i realize they moved away from the clever puzzle aspects of past games and became less challenging. Enjoyable for me nonetheless.

Ive been patiently waiting for a remake of TR2 (my favorite) since the remake of TR1, which i agree was done well.
