gamesas, please make attractive male/female body meshes/

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 3:38 am

Awesome, thanks for the reply! My main concern was when I had heard that you were doing away with the sliders in favor of "pre-made" facial and body components. Doesn't that severely limit the amount of freedom and customization in favor or "better looking characters"? Not trying to sound negative hear, but I LOVE deep character creation systems. I usually spend hours creating just the perfect character (since I will be spending hundreds of hours with them). It is a major pet peeve of mine to play a game where everyone's character looks essentially the same with a few minor tweaks.

Thanks!

If you have alot of presets available variety wont be a problem. Honestly, players will be able to create characters far more unique than any of our previous titles. On top of that they will look awesome. We have put in and continue to put in tons of work and time into it, alot of our own personal time as well. When you guys finally see what we are doing with it your innards will shoot out of your butts.... well probably not, but you guys AND gals will be very happy. :celebration:

Are you sure that's a Dark Elf? I could have sworn I read somewhere that was a goblin.

Except for the helmet, he's wearing trailer Dovahkiin's same exact outfit. Goblins never wear armor that you can wear.

Because the body models are the only (Only!) thing BioWare has done right in that game. :) - high resolution handsome male and attractive female models. Also, beautiful default face textures/models… Nothing else to see in that game.

Well, Merrill's body looks terrible in the romance scene, like, really terrible.
So terrible you won't believe it.

Bethesda has already confirmed this in their first podcast. No more ugly faces.

I know I'm about to tread into the "simplified is dumb" argument.

But I hope the features are very customizable. Or else we only have a few noses and ears, and what not to choose from. I know people hate sliders but I would like a mix of the two.

Basically pick the basic shape and then fine tune it with the sliders.

Not just you pick a nose from 5 preset noses.

Edit: Now to facepalm myself for not reading the above posts.
Vsions - I'll have to see it to believe it. I hope it does blow my innards out my BUTTOCKSSS.

If the game allows me to make my character look and sound like Richard Simmons I'll be more than satisfied.

I meant,of course, protagonist models. Sorry. Companions had good faces in DA2, and all the rest were indeed low-resolution junk. Tbh, I really enjoyed personalities of companions in that game. Except Anders. They must have kept him as refined classy up-town boy with magic dropping off his fingers, as in DA:O, and not make a dirty revolutionary. But how they managed to [censored] up everything else, is unbelievable.

I also liked the companions, except Isabela and Anders, loved him in Awakening, but now... Overal I enjoyed the game enough, it was nothing like DA:O But it was enjoyable... Sort of.
And I can't believe they didn't add bowstrings yet again!

On topic: They might look good, but mods will do it better, I'm sure. Anything would be better than Oblivion's models though!

You will still be able to make freakish looking people. All character creators give you the ability to create freaks if you really wanted to, but our new setup makes it quite a bit more difficult and actually easy to make very cool looking ones and still get a lot of customizeability and very unique looking characters no matter what you are. You guys will be very happy, its really awesome :)

Freaks and variety, good. :D Not everyone wants to play a Barbie or Prince Charming. :hehe:

I think that question's been answered by the trailer - the NPCs were looking pretty hawt in that, weren't they? The screenshots are looking pretty sweet.

I wouldn't like playing an ugly, scarred, skinny and miserable hero of Skyrim fighting dragons. Might as well go for an anime pink hentai princess hero of Skyrim. :)

Yes and especially the Khajiit must be sixy! Argonians are deadly sixy but Khajiit need some extra love.

One word: variety.

Like in real life.

I agree with this, I would like a slider for skin texture that goes from smooth to rough, I guess, smooth being a more attractive texture and rough being less attractive... what I really do not want is the ugly oblivion texture disasters... women with mustaches... and beard circles...

I think that would make him more interesting than a golden haired , blue eyed charlatan.

Awesome news, thanks for the feedback! Sounds like I will be able to actually make a character that looks the way I want without having to spend hours doing so. Thanks again for the reply, it's nice to have some of the game artists in here to actually respond to a lot of the speculation. Keep up the good work guys, the game is looking damn amazing!

Fallout 3's women weren't so bad with cloths on either, but the "nvde" models for both men and women looked awful. Putting white shirts on all of the guys and giving the girls undetailed bodies was pretty lame.

Bethesda- http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090611220939/fallout/images/archive/2/2f/20110322193255!sixy_Sleepwear.png

Type 3- http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/images/34825-2-1287713649.jpg

For the Bethesda version, look at how flat and bland her skin is! Her boobs seem a bit weird and they didn't even bother to give her toes! And yeah, the shoulders are awful too.

As long as Skyrim's women are faithful to human anatomy, I'll be fine with them. No muddy faces, no green lips on black people, no textureless skin, no toeless feet, etc. haha

I assume the lack of toes is to limit the number of triangles so the game actually runs on a variety of hardware. But yeah, females could have used a different skeleton so they didn't all have shoulders like a Russian shot putter!

I hope the presets and sliders aren't TOO limited, like FO3. I preferred the Oblivion FaceGen system (if not the character models) with more options.

Please, make sixy (in a good sense) and attractive male and female bodies. The game is 18+ and if you do something like BioWare did for the Dragon Age 2, there will be no need to make any nvde/better/alternative bodies. The modding will be based on the original models. We will all win. Thank you in advance!

No need. We'll have body replacers on day one anyway. If the body models / textures the game comes with are ugly let the console gamers deal with it.

That said I would like at least the infrastructure to give people of the same race different models. Perhaps a thin / muscled / whoah bobybuilder shape for each race that is derived from the player / npc's stre-errr ... well damn :\.
