GameStop Fiasco

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 5:24 am

Is anyone else here having problems with GameStop? For over a week now I have been trying to cancel my pre purchase of Fallout 4, but they do not respond to emails. I have tried to call them. Only to find out that because of a high volume of calls there is a 30 minute wait tome.

I waited until Monday, when I still didn’t hear from GameStop, I went ahead and Ordered and paid for Fallout 4 via STEAM. Now, a day after the game is released I find that GameStop shipped out my Fallout 4 and credited my credit card account. And, now it is even harder to contact them. So, it looks like I am stuck with two Fallout 4 games. One thing is certain, I will never pre pay for a game ever again. Especially through GameStop. They are now on my, “I hope you all die at Gamestop” [censored] list.

If gamestop never had special collectors editions exclusive to them I would honestly always go to wal-mart, they always usually have games at night of release like gamestop and there's never a long line.

Yep, stopped pre-ordering with them all the way back with the initial FFVII release in January of 1997. They had a limited amount of copies, so employees got them first, and employee friends got them after that. The rest of us svckers waited 3 months. I bought a copy a month after release somewhere else, GameStop wouldn't let me cancel my "pre-order" either, ended up with two copies. Rebought the steam version this year, so technically I have 3 copies :P

I am going to report them to the Oregon Better Business Bureau and the State Attorney's Office for internet fraud. I am not [censored] around with any corporation.

That's okay. When i found out my pip boy edition wasn't gonna get here on the 10th and I had taken the day off I went out and picked it up from gamestop. Brought it back today (to a few curious looks because I was trading it in) and got a WHOPPING $26(usd) for it. I'm sorry a third of what I paid for it? That's [censored]!

If the company did not put a limit-per-customer on product purchase... Then that's the company's fault is it not? If a person works at the retailer, they shouldn't be allowed to buy one? (or buy ten ~if they can afford it? It's not like they get them for free; and if they get them at a discount ~that's their perk for working at the store; and a common one at that.)

*A limit-per-customer in place would then be actionable (I presume), but without one, I don't see the fault here; they bought them first.

** Perhaps the retailers should enforce staff sales after hours? (As in not while on shift, some probably do.)

Haha why wouldn't you go to Green Man Gaming for at least 20% off? Hilarious to me that people still pay full price for games.

That's just fine. I went ahead and gave the game to a friend of mine who is attending college full time and working at my local Starbucks. He was happy as a Lark. Hopefully, someday he will pay it forward.

Power to the players.
