GameStop will be publishing it's first retail video game developed by Insomniac Games.

The name of the video game is Song of the Deep.

We all know in these days when video games are purchased in physical boxes they come with a code for the video game to be activated digitally and we all know GameStop sells physical boxed video games mostly in order to stay in business.

If GameStop starts publishing and selling physical boxed versions of video games along side digital video games to sell, then this should make us video gamers who purchase physical boxed versions of video games very happy and the video gamers who purchase digital video games very happy as well.

Every video gamer wins.

Thoughts about GameStop entering the video game publishing business?

I hope they charge me for pre-owned complete editions of games at full retail price if it were new, and only include the vanilla game in the paper sleeve they sell it in.

Spoiler
They sold me MK Komplete Edition for $19.99 which is the price of new, and the game itself was just the vanilla game.

Nah, I'll pass. They would have to really impress me before I bought it, and with me being happy with Bethesda and the Witcher games, they have some really big shoes to fill.

Not sure. The role of a publisher can vary quite a lot from one game to another. I'll have to wait and see what "Published by Gamestop" means.

I'll probably just opt for the kidney donation for the 5% off. I'll keep my kid...for now.

Gamestop's trade-in rates are so blatantly exploitative of kids that don't yet understand the value of money that I'm amazed that parents let their kids go there without supervision.
