What? They just lost it?

Meaning no refunds, and no game? Or will it come later?

No. I put $5 down on it around November/December.

When I got there they said I never preordered the game.

So I basically have to pay almost $70 for the game without the preorder bonus.

Last time I ever preorder from Gamestop.

Funny thing is theyre(EB Games) pretty good where I live, Ive never had any problems whatsoever with the outlet here. But you here a lot of 'horror' stories about how Gamestop likes to "lose" peoples codes or how they sell more preorders then they actually have.

You live in the EU, right?

If so, you might still be able to get your code bonus, since they're in the casings of the first shipment units - so get there early

I prepaid as soon as I heard they were acepting preorders, aronund nov '10 or so... Also in 10+ years I never had any problems with a pre-order failing. The again I keep every reciept for one year and only discard them when that month is up (i.e. I have 13 mons of reciepts at any given tim)

There is only one thing at GameStop that is not dynamically tracked and accessible at every store and that's pre-orders.
Are you sure you were at the correct store?
You must redeem your pre-order at the store you reserved it at. It is nearly impossible to lose that reservation information.

In response to loser employees taking your game, we have very strict policies on taking games home prior to street date. And the punishment for such a thing is severe resulting in termination.
Aside from that Game Advisors (GAs), who are non-managerial employees, do not have access to pre-release titles as they are generally locked within a cage that only managers can access.
To add another layer of security we do daily counts of pre-release games as we generally get them a few days early.

Return to the store, explain the situation to a manager and they should be able to print off a code for you.

I am not a spokesman I am simply a manager who has been with GameStop for 2 years.

I thought about going on Ebay and just buying a preorder code but they're charging $20 per code, and thats not including shipping.

Insane.

They called the only other Gamestop in the area and asked them. No dice.

I really don't see the point in going to the store and speaking to the manager. He'll just look at the computer, see that there's no record of a preorder, and say "Touch luck." And I don't have a receipt for it so he could just also say I'm lying or something.

And no offense to you, but the guys who work at Gamestop are a bunch of dikes. The ones who work at this one are anyway.

Mandeville, Louisiana.

Some of the guys there are alright but there are quite a few who... I don't know. Sometimes they just seem like they really hate their job. Other times it seems like they are literally looking down their nose at you.

But yeah, not going back to complain to the manager. Not worth the embarrassment. Plus it's like 25 minutes away.

Well I'm going to Gamestop in a couple of hours to pick up my pre-order (PS3), so I hope that they have a code where i'm at. If not, you guys are saying that they will contact me via email once the PSN is restored? Idk, it's not a huge deal but i hope they at least remember to contact me back, because I have a feeling that they won't even bother to. I'll see though, perhaps i get lucky and can get a code, but chances are slim.

If I remember right, wasn't it a store in Louisiana that changed the way trades were done company wide? They got caught with a bunch of stolen games (Thousands of $ worth) that all were traded in by the same person. I remember overhearing that one day when I was in one of the Gamestops in my area.
