Gamestop Pre-order = Worthless

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 9:53 pm

I am begining to wonder what the point of pre-ordering this title from gamestop was when one gets screwed out of the bonus content..

I wonder if Other pre-orders got the same treatment.

So Much for the pre-order. I guess I'll know not to do that again with games from this company.

How did you get screwed out of the pre order content?

The pre order content must be unlocked by completing the game, because it's bonus content for Crucible.

I just picked up my Pre-Order PC version from Gamestop and there was NO Pre-Order Code. Where it says: You Code is: IT'S BLANK. They ran a seperate receipt and that too was blank. They called another store and had them run a PC version, and theres was blank too. I had them try the PS3 and Xbox and those both had codes. So this is something on Gamestop's head to get it fixed. The only reason I ordered from Gamestop was the outfit/weapon bonuses, which looked better then the Best Buy version. The clerk sent an email to their contacts and are trying to get more info on why it didn't print. They did say, that they were asked when it rung up, if today was 5/31... Which normally does not happen when they sell a game on the release date. So it could be something wrong with the PC SKU in the system. Either way, they are holding an Xbox version of the game for me, if they can't get the PC Code to me in the next day or 2. At least my Gamestop knows me by name and they will get back to me either way.

GameStop codes are supposed to be emailed out -- not put on a receipt or card. I would check your email and contact GameStop again.

If general, if you're having issues, always contact the retailer first -- as they might be able to assist. If you continue to have issues, you can try to our customer support (contact number should be on the back page of the manual).

I've always received my codes either on a receipt or in the game case from Gamespot. Are you 100% sure about this?

My Gamestop store called me back a little while ago. It "WAS" supposed to be on the receipt. He gave me the code over the phone. I put the code in and hit enter. It tried to verify the code then failed with "Code Invalid" We thought maybe something was wrong, so he gave me a 2nd code, that too was invalid, so we tried 1 more time, and the 3rd code was also invalid. I was reading another post saying these might not be activated until June 1? Is that true and why would they not activate on Launch day?

So, in the mean time, I'm playing through the Single Player campaign. Other then the annoying shadow glitches (Black Triangles all over the screen at times) it's not too bad, but the character graphics could have been much more detailed. Kind of strange at the awesome graphics in Witcher 2 with smooth gameplay to this game. The screenshots look great, so why doesn't my game look like that when set on Highest?

Also, Why are the keybinds not working? I have 1 for Pyre Arrow and 2 for Arctic, and only 2 will work, Pressing 1, won't change back to Pyre.

With both Brink and Hunted, I've been told the codes would be emailed rather than on the receipt. That being said, I'm told some stores might still have them on the receipt.

If you're having issues with pre-order codes... make sure you post the following information:

The platform you're playing on (360, PS3, PC)
Where you purchased (Direct2Drive, Steam, Best Buy, Amazon, WalMart, GameStop).

This is because certain retailers will be emailing codes (like GameStop and Amazon) while others pack them in the box (Best Buy, Walmart)

Thanks

Update: I was also informed because of the situation with PSN, the pre-order PS3 codes might not be active just yet.
