Gametypes: Constructive Criticism.

Post » Tue May 31, 2011 8:03 pm

First of all, I want to start out by saying that although most of the people I see posting here are complaining about balance issues, my biggest gripe with the game isn't a weapon or a module. It's the game type level restrictions. I really don't get why people need to "earn" the right to play without the nanosuit in Classic or even for 39 to get to "Pro" mode. I despised Black Ops, but the one thing that can be said about the game was that it had more variety in that regard for folks to find their comfort zone and enjoy the game.

It's not about the progression speed either. I personally have enjoyed the leveling experience so far, and planning my Skill Assessments to move up through the ranks. The problem stems from not having options to keep from getting burnt out on the standard gameplay settings.

So here I am, sitting in the lobby waiting for five more players to get in a game of Team Instant action on classic. Just like I have been for the last thirty minutes. In that time ONE player my level joined the room, stuck around for about five minutes and bailed. Don't get me wrong. Your lobby is very unique and artistic, but I'd really rather be playing the actual game at the moment and I'm too sick of the default settings to go back to "standard."

All I'm asking is, "Would it be so hard to lower the level requirements on the unique game types (Classic, Pro) to increase the size of the player base in those modes?" Variety is the spice of life, and if you keep a padlock on it you're going to lose a lot of people's attention to games that have variety more readily available. I love the game. Sure it has it's problems, but overall it's been a good experience. All I'm asking is that you do the sensible thing and give us the full variety that we have come to expect as an industry standard in online FPS games. Time to let the dog off the leash.

Yeah it svcks that you have to unlock playlists via level, If you're like me and play alot you have to basically wait for the general population to unlock the playlists and start getting games, it sux

I'm confused... are there level requirements for certain game modes? If so I haven't noticed it... at all.

Strange...

Yep. Classic is locked until 28, and Pro is unlocked at 39

That's odd. I tried classic first thing at level 5 (LE).

Very strange indeed...

This is why I didn't but the game. Rented it and played for a while, but the cloaking/super speed/tank armor ruined it for me. Had I been able to play classic I may have enjoyed it more, but after 17 levels I could take no more. Hopefully more people like me are going to save their money and developers will take note.. Probably not but it's worth wishing for.
