Gaming Computer Upgrade Help.

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 5:33 pm

Hi community.

trying this again.... I wrote a long post about how I wanted some help upgrading my gaming computer, I posted a link, not knowing it wouldnt let me and I lost the whole thing.

so here I go again, I got this computer almost a year ago, and it's not running as good as I want. it keeps crashing, default settings have it running the game on ultra, I tried running it on high resolution but the crashes kept happening. so I'm thinking I need to upgrade it again, or at least some components in it.

this is the computer I got.

iBUYPOWER Desktop PC VERSA SERIES NE782K Intel Core i7 4790K (4.0 GHz) 8 GB DDR3 1 TB HDD Windows 8.1 64-Bit

I got in on newegg and would love some help figuring out what I should get to make it run smoother. The graphic card is updated and I'm running on a windows 10. If you guys have any questions let me know.

thanks in advance.

With that hardware you should be able to get by with mostly Ultra settings. Before you start throwing hardware at it, there are some other things you need to check into and try first.

Which OS do you have? Your original post mentions both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 - did you upgrade to 10 after buying the machine?

Are your graphics card drivers up to date?

Have you tried running the game in windowed or borderless window mode?

Hi thanks again.

My OS is windows 10 I upgraded it after buying the machine. my graphic card driver is up to date, that was one of the first thing I tried doing when I noticed the problems. my AMD catalys driver is 15.11.1

I run the game on ultra setting, but the crashes still occur, I guess the Frame rate drops and I experience some lag issues. I tried running on high but the problems persisted. I havent tried running the game on windows mode or borderless mode. I had 2 monitors plugged into my graphic cards but I umplugged one to see if that would help but It didn't.

Have you tried doing a clean boot and then playing the game to see what happens?

https://windowsinstructed.com/clean-boot-windows-windows/ What this will do is disable all non-Windows processes that run at start up. This way you can tell if some background application is causing problems or using too many resources.
