Gaming Laptop Recommendations

Post » Fri May 15, 2015 10:21 am

So the pin in my power supply to which the charger connects broke, and it looks like its going to cost me a couple hundred dollars to get fixed. Considering my laptop is 4-5 years anyway, I'm thinking it's probably best just to get a new gaming laptop at this point. Since it's been awhile, I'm unfamiliar with the latest specs and was wondering whether anyone on here had any recommendations. I'm looking for something in the $1200-$1300 range (the budget can't afford to go Alienware-caliber atm).

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

I would give a few suggestions (though at this point to be honest, I'm just against gaming laptops because of their cost and almost never upgradable...but it's your money), but first thing I would need to know is what type of hardware you're wanting. Even Alienware has some gaming laptops that run from $900-$1200.

Thanks for the help!

Something similar to the Dominator I guess (http://www.amazon.com/GT70-Dominator-895-i7-4800MQ-7200rpm-Gaming/product-reviews/B00IXQE4JQ/ref=cm_cr_dp_qt_hist_five?ie=UTF8&filterBy=addFiveStar&showViewpoints=0) which is one of the choices I'm considering. Comments about the network card have made me a bit undecided as to that model though....

I don't really know hardware specs well enough to give specific numbers and have been looking mostly at Top 10 lists for ideas, but for lack of a better benchmark I'm looking to be able to run Inquisition on full blast. I know enough about opening a machine up to be able to upgrade the RAM...so that's something I can cut back on in the short term and then just upgrade myself later to bring down the up front cost

as DarksunTheFirst on the previous post: I would give a few suggestions (though at this point to be honest, I'm just against gaming laptops because of their cost and almost never upgradable

Also to add, they becoming hot as well. (especially if you play the game with all the bells and whistles)

However, as i gaming laptop your suggestion is pretty fast for an Laptop, and the price is more than okay also.

-----------

And it has a Non Reflection Display. I assume it has a matte display. The best you can wish from a screen.

Light shining on the display can cause extremely noticeable reflections, and sunlight is the worst case scenario here.
