Well I think that set up will do you just fine dude, I was able to have crysis on max with a system just a bit lower spec than that, I had a intel dual core @ 2.50GHz (not over clocked) 4GB of Ram, and a GTX 275... which then sadly died, was a send back to factory job, but it seems the 200 seirse where known to fail alot, but as for the 400 seirse, they work like a dream... as far as i know. :P

So yeah, I think you could get Crysis running at high specs with that, may try Very high specs, but make sure your system is kept cool if you do so.

As for Crysis 2 i think you should be fine :)

He's buying a Pre-built system off of Aria.co.uk

http://www.aria.co.uk/Systems/Gaming+Range/Trident/Trident+Vanquish+4.50GHz+Gaming+PC+?productId=41179

Doesn't look bad at all for it's price I'd say.

True it's not, But it's still a very good CPU. I have a pentium chip it's the E5200 2.50 dule core, a very good chip, best bang for buck CPU around... and yet very easy to OC... I've had crysis at max with no sweat with it at all, but then again, Crysis isn't a CPU hungry game, but a GPU hungry one.

I guess it'll work... However pentium is a bit outdated don't you think.
Overclock doesn't really matter. Your computer might give out at any sec if you do. Get a newer proccesor as well. Your Graphics card is supposed to be high powered but it doesn't have that much built in ram for some reason.
If you want something that'll last you for a decent while, get something in the intel core i series line. You rarely find computers without hyperthreading these days.

I thought the same about the Pentium. It is old technology but i researched that model specifically. It was released in Q1 2010 so its not necessarily outdated.

I would suggest an upgrade in processor power to a quad core, and an increase in power supply to about a 700watt, to give you upgradeable options in the future (400w is low!).

That computer would come with two bottlenecks, a GPU bottleneck because of the CPU, and a power bottleneck because of the power supply.

Again though the same thing but a 4.5 Ghz dual core from 2010 shouldn't bottleneck on a 460. also this computer is apparently built and tested (its not a DIY) so he should be fine and i think its a good gaming computer

I agree with the PSU being low for future upgrades though.

Yeah try upgrading your processor to a Core 2 Duo or a Core 2 Quad.
If you do get a Pentium now, you may regret it pretty soon. A better processor would mean a longer time in which the system would be useful to you, Especially with a graphics card like that. And yeah 400w is quite low for the GTX460 as well
