GATES TO AESGAARD - Episode One [RELz] #2

------------------------SPOILER-----------------------------------------

I'm loving this mod! The quality is amazing and better than original content. But I am having a problem in the chamber after the lake. I can't think of what to do to make the door appear. Please pm a solution since walkthrough link is dead.

Hi!
I'm sending you a PM with part of the walkthrough I wrote. If it's where I think it is it should help you. If not just PM me and I'm happy to help. :)

Thanks for the PM. I was missing performing the placement of a certain object. I was probably going too fast. Love the mod, bigtime.

Hello Sulteric Drums. :)

I PMed you the complete walkthrough back on August 27th when you requested it. You must not have received it. It's still in my Sent messages box since I haven't cleaned it out lately.

Glad you got the answer. :P

Help please- I know that you're meant to
Spoiler
get lost in the abyss, from what I can gather, but I'm really lost there, and I could use a nudge in the right direction. I took The Stairs trapdoor down, but it only dumped me in the bottom of the canyon, and there's nothing down there- anyway, aren't I trying to get up on the platform with the blue door? I thought I saw some floating stairs leading there, but I don't see them anymore, so I'm really stumped. Just a nudge in the right direction would be nice, since the walkthrough link doesn't work.
Thanks.

Sorry, but there's no walkthrough to be found there. The link goes to a relocation page for Aesgaard 2. I'm stuck and need help, but all the Aesgaard 1 stuff seems to be gone from everywhere. More precisely, I'm stuck at the lake where the quest log says I need to find another way - I explore anyway, find no way to anywhere and go back to "Nowhere", find no other way there, then go back to the throne chamber. There are various "gates" here that seem to mean something, but no, nothing happens when I try to activate them. Now what? Please help.

I'd really appreciate a walkthrough because I like to keep focused on one quest and dislike playing somewhere else while waiting for answers.

Thanks, found it. I *thought* I had explored that lake... :banghead:

Just a heads-up:

EW users no longer need, or should use, the Gates To Aesgaard 2 patch if they upgrade to EW 1.3.4, as from then on EW will be compatible with GTA2, or any other worldspace-adding mod, out of the box. I repeat: do not use the GTA2 patch with EW 1.3.4 +.

I posted a full review of this to the TOQL, but seeing as the thread is back up I thought I'd stick my head in.

Gates to Aesgaard I is a fantastic mod. Less polished than Gates 2*, but still tremendous fun, and a sign of the great stuff the Priest and his team would do in the future. Very highly recommended.

It's also fun to go through the Red Sonia mod before GtA1&2; Ashen Rose is a main character in the G&G books introduced in Sonia, which gives you a deeper sense of who it is you're trying to rescue.

*Too many items (books, wine, containers) from Tamriel in a world space supposedly outside of Tamriel, level design gets a bit clunky as you track down one key after another; Both problems were fixed in Gates 2, and don't stop Gates 1 from being a must play mod

Hi I just played episode 1 and am about to start episode 2 and i was just wondering........Is there any chance Ashen Rose will come back? I think she would be a really cool companion and that would just intrigue the story line more!!!! Thanks! :talk:

Hi everyone! Sorry for not been able to reply more often. I recently moved in Athens and my net access has become limited.

Wrinklyninja thanks for the update on my "episode 2" once again! EW is the most realistic weather modification so far.
OldBook thanks for the TOQL add! Excellent review by the way. I'll do the best I can to make episode 3 more intersting compared to the first two episodes.
Murphy, that was the plan for the last episode. Besides Rose though you'll be able to summon a couple of other companions as well.

My thanks for the feedback and support!

P.S. since some people are asking for walkthroughs if anyone would possibly like to make them (I really hate typing) you could post it over my website (www.gatestoaesgaard.tk) or PM me in order to create a dedicated webpage linked to my main page.

All I know is: a mod like this will be a real treat for me. I get scared because of anything in Oblivion nowadays. Even the realm of Oblivion scares the hell (no pun intended) out of me. But do I love getting frightened.

I'll save this treasure for a dark and spooky night when I'm all alone. I wonder what'll happen...? I can't wait! I hope I don't wake up everyone in the house...

Is there a recommended level range for tackling this series of mods?

or, does it level with you?

thanks

Oooh.. so Episode 3 is in the works? I think it was in another thread I read that episode 3 might not happen and an expansion to Episode 2 would conclude the series instead. Or maybe I was chugging to many pixy sticks... o.0

The first two episodes WERE interesting!! Don't stray too much from your current MO. Keep them creepy, scary, and horrific! The surroundings and atmosphere in your mods are SO DIFFERENT than anything else out there. I LOVE 'EM!!!!

Can't wait for EP3, Priest!

I'm stuck in the abyss, there was a square of rocks I fell through and then I followed the path to the green arrow but nothing happens.

This looks awesome! I've just installed both this and GTA Episode 2, but I had one question for anyone who knows: where is this mod's start point? Same for Episode 2; I'm mainly asking to make sure I do Episode 1 before doing Episode 2. :) I would just refer to the walkthroughs, but they seem to be down ATM. Any help would be appreciated.

Don't activate the episode 2 esp until you've completed ep 1, there's a massive spoiler in the pop-up quest update. And for the first ep, you should get a letter and a map marker I think that tell you where to start.

[censored] awesome mod. right up there with ivellon. dont change your style one bit, keep doing it the way you have been doing it. i love creepy dungeon crawls (im currently playing king's field ancient city on my comp). kinda reminded me of the hellraiser movies alittle bit. :)

just one question, will the third one also be independent also, cause i need to clean up room for some other big quest mods i want to do.

Ah, thanks! I'll keep that in mind about Episode 2, and I'll look for that letter in my inventory (I didn't see it on my last test character, but to be honest, I wasn't specifically looking for a letter, either, as I was testing other things. I'll keep a lookout next time. :) Thanks again, WrinklyNinja! :D

More plot development. Pop in an NPC once in a while that can give the player some clue as to what is going on, plot points, etc. Even if it's an enemy confrontation, they can give help the player understand more of the story better before they attack.

i actually liked the dearth of npcs. if its supposed to be a horror mod then having noone around adds to the atmosphere. also in real life things often happen without explanation. it detracts from some movies, games, etc. when you are given the entire story right up front and leave no mystery.
