[RELz] GATES TO AESGAARD 2 (NEW!)

I've uploaded a little mod - http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24716.

As you can probably guess, this delays GTA2 from starting until you've completed GTA1. Just thought I'd share it since it seems quite neat. :)

Load order doesn't matter (I forgot to put that in the readme).

The Priest:
Everytime I try using Open Cities with GTA,
Carhenia landscape is totally fubar, the statics
are hanging up in the sky, hundreds of feet
up, and if you step off the portal platform you

I have same problem, except I DONT use Open Cities! I tried disabling both Unique Landscapes and Optimised Distant Land MAX but neither worked, and I have no idea what other mod would conflict with GTAesgaard2. I also have RAEVWD installed but since it alters LOD files only, I doubt it matters much. I tried loading GTAesgaard2 last aswell, below Bashed Patch too, but no. Landscape is still fubar on Carhenia.

I would really like some help here. After playing oh-so-awesome episode 1, it left me so hooked to this serie. :)

You fail to read the readme. If I remember right, the esm must load directly after Oblivion.esm for it to work. Read the readme again and follow it's instructions.

Heh, I searched through the internet for answers and all technical support pages didnt say a thing about that (atleast I didnt see them honestly, all I saw were about landscape altering mods). Didnt remember to check the readme, which is the obvious choice... :P

Interesting. Seems like BOSS sorts the ESM completely wrong then in the case of this mod. It recognises GTAesgaard2.esm but sorts it as last, right before deadlyreflex esms. Thanks.


*edit* Re-readed the very first post and now I saw where it is mentioned. :facepalm:

There is a way to fix the ESMs so this isn't necessary, the Silgrad Tower folks figured it out from what I recall. But I can't find any link describing it, so it would be a matter of asking them.

The whole thing about the esm and its position is posted almost everywhere. (Readme.txt, F.A.Q., official website... etc).

That's true but that method could cause a few issues. I've already done a few tests and I'm still working on it.

Up from the depths...

I finally got around to installing these. And I just had to add to Wrinklyninja's delayer.
My update just delays the start or GTA1 until the Player is level 13.

I'm the kind of player that likes to load mods and then forget about them. Play them as they happen.
For some reason, I restart quite a bit. I don;t think I have gotten past level 20 in the last year with any of my 30 or so restarts.

I really hate the gazillion message boxes when starting a new game. So I simply postponed the start of GTA1 for a little while.

This looks really killer, and I hope you do get #3 out.

I just downloaded pt 1 and wanted to know if part 2 can also be downloaded at the same time? Also the read me says not to use texture replacers has anyone played pt 2 with testure replacer and does it work fine ?

Sure, you can download it. I would install and play part one before you install and play part two though. I played both with a few texture replacers... Bomrets and Koldorns... and the mod worked fine and looked great.

GTA1 and GTA2 are two of my favorite mods. Sure wish The Priest didn't give up on a third episode.

Since this thread came back from the dead, I'd say that it looks like the right place to post the latest news about GTAesgaard.



Okay so, let's start with the bad news!

Everything has to come into an end and "Gates to Aesgaard" quest series can be officially considered as dead!
I know that some people were waiting for "episode 3" and I'm sorry for that, but unfortunately there won't be any ep3 coming out any time soon.
My team and I left Oblivion and "modding" 3 months ago.
Reason? Several... the main reason though is that we want to move forward with game developing....

Now.. there are some good news too.

Two months ago we made a step forward. We are now officially working on our own game. A complete new game from scratch.
The game is based on a new horror fiction story Maigrets and I are currently developing. The story takes place in the end of the year 1918. The gameplay could be described as single player "action adventure" with shooter elements but I'd say that it'll be something more than just that.
Unfortunately I can't post more info about this new project in public yet.
The game is gon'a be developed on a stand alone version of the "unreal Engine 3", recently released for indie developers.
That means that it will NOT require any other game to play. It will be a complete new game as I've already mentioned.


At this point, I'd like to personally thanks all those people who supported GTAesgaard.

@ The Priest: Could you consider releasing patched versions of GTA1 & 2 since you're no longer going to be continuing the series in Oblivion? The patches I mean are for the weather bugs, and I'll supply you with the files that can be merged to make it easy for you if you agree. :)
