[RELz] GATES TO AESGAARD 2 (NEW!)

Post » Wed Mar 02, 2011 5:23 pm

This looks real nice. Was just about to DL then I saw some conflict about weather or something, going to wait just a bit to make sure every things ok for sure. :)

If it turns out I don’t know what im talking about then I apologize its late and im lit. Ive had some bad experiances in past with bad mods, its a real hassle reinstalling game and what not. But this work looks like a real keeper -_<

Thepreist, I went to tesnexus and looked at your work, dam good stuff, I was wondering to get the full experiance of your work will AESGAARD 1 and 2 be a full compilation of your world, or should i also DL THE LOST PROVINCE OF ZEDAR ? As i was reading about the lost province of zeder it mentioned aesgaard 2 so maby it was added to aesgaard 2 but i dont know, i do know i want to play every thing you have ever made and keep as a functional story line and seamless reality.

Ok so as i was reading about aesgaard 2 it mentioned THE LOST PROVINCE OF ZEDAR as an extra so common sense tells me its in this mod. One other thing is I cant DL this at Tes Nexus as it shows 0 files to DL? I got so many dam sites and registration and passwords tesnexus is one of the only ones i can still remeber.

So, here I am with some feedback,
I have not yet have the time to start working on the quest.
But this is what I noticed:

There is a bit to little communication between Ep1. and 2.
You see. When one would start a new character and leave the sewers, he would get a message from his/her old friend Ashen and be thrilled to go and find out what is going on with her.
Now, before there is a chance to set off to the amazing quest-line to save Ashen and the horror of conclusion of it
Spoiler
(the most of episode 1 is after all the frightening notes of Ashen which dwindles your hope bit by bit and give you strenght to fight trough the hordes, just to be in time)

The next message tells you that ashen is dead(practically rendering the first quest useless at once) and starts talking about Lorkhan as if you should know who this bloke is.

I know you said that the two episodes can be played separately, and the sure can.
But is that really worth the cost of destroying part of the amazement of part 1?

I recommend a choice for players.
An esp. that would activate the ep.2 quest only some time after ep.1 was finished for the ones who have both episodes and want to play them in the right order with out getting spoiled.
And a second esp. for the ones who only have episode 2 and aren't planning on getting the first(fool hearty as it may be;)).

Please take this into account, because I really think that episode 1 deserves more than a quest spoil by it's sequel.
Now, I'll take some time to finally play it.

GTAegaard 2 is not compatible with weather mods that use the script editor to set the weather instead of the normal editor. GTAesgaard 2 uses specific enviroments and lighting and for some reason some weather mods seem to interfear and change the original weather. Currently it is not compatible with natural enviroments and enchanced weather (I haven't test it with atmospheric weather system). However wrinklyninja is working on a patch for enchanced weather.
It's not such a bad thing though. You can de-activate (untick the plugin) to play GTAegaard 2 and re-activate it once you're done. No unistallation is required.

Hello my friend. Zedar is just a mod-resource. Zedar was about to be a part of GTAesgaard 2 but during the development I realised that it was a huge waste of time. That's why I'[ve decided to remove it. Zedar was supposed to be a region of the Cursed-World. But no it isn't reqiored. Zedar does not include any quests either.

Windows Vista might be tricky when it comes to system drive. I wouldn't suggest for anyone to DL the files in C:\\ anyway. Just right click on the zip archive and select extract here.

Check TesNexus's Mirror sites. You can find link to DL or chack this page: http://the5thelement.webs.com/apps/links/
The file is too large for TesNexus and I don't want to split it.
Zedar is not required.

Artfact! Thanks for the feedback :)
I'm aware of that but additional esps could make the installation harder for most people and my e-mail full of questions. lol
so I'd prefer to leave it as it is for now. Once ep3 is out I'll create a complete version of GTAesgaard in a single plugin.
btw... make sure to set the right load-order! :)

I've started playing and it's wonderfully presented and scripted work of art. Thank you for offering this to the community. You may start to regret it however when I start pestering you to make quests for MERP

Love the mod. The quest is great, meshes and textures great, sound, great. One tiny little problem though. In Carhenia, I had to use TCL to get around because the land was't there. The LOD land was, but not the land land. It affected things like the Farmhouse too though. The door was there but the house itself wasn't.

Apart from that, it's a great mod!

that's usually a load order issue... GTAesgaard_2.esm must be placed right after Oblivion.esm.

I've just released the Gates To Aesgaard Episode 2 - Enhanced Weather patch. It's been uploaded to the Enhanced Weather TES Nexus page, and can be found at:

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16544

Install instructions can be found in the readme, but it's just an esp you can drop anywhere in your load order, and is bashed-patch-mergeable.

I am REALLY enjoying this mod! Other than a couple of missing icons this thing is flawless. I noticed that having to move the .esm below Oblivion.esm is causing a CTD upon exit, not a big deal but it happens even with the No CTD mod installed. That's odd. I haven't figured it out yet but it's really not a big deal.

Spoiler
I LOVE the dragon! Awesome work.

Hello everyone! Finally back home!

Equi and LazyMonk... thanks for helping odd.bod to fix the load order issue! :)
Sulteric Drums thank you! The CTD upon exit - issue is a very common issue when mods with large amount of data are installed... It's a general oblivion engine issue.
wrinklyninja! Thanks for the compatibillity-patch! I'll update the read-me file as soon as possible!

I'm pretty far trough the quest I think:).
Spoiler
Battling the priests now, man, they've got some good magick on them.
Loving the quest-line this far. Revisiting the horrors of the realms, getting smashed by odd daemons and knights and solving nerve-breaking hop-puzzles is lovely.
There was a bit of a problem which I imagen took away allot of the atmosphere, since all of the premonitions emitted by the book did not play.
They where supposed to be clips like in the first episode, right?

In any case thanks Priest for another jewel!

About the book... I removed ( I had to) some of the clips (4 of them) mostly because of their large size... each clip was about 50-150Mb... Imagine that x5... That's a lot of additional data. The file is allready 640 MB (compressed). I would have serious problems uploading the file. I'll take a second look at those cut-scenes and I'll propably release them as additional content.

Hm, I understand, that'd be a bit overweighted.
Would love to have cut-scene add-on though, since that really set the mood last time.
Hope you can get around it.
