It's decent. The price is somewhat justified as well considering the hardware....8GB of RAM is rather overkill. Just for frame of reference.....

System with less RAM, but a bit faster processor:

System with slightly slower processor (fast enough though), but better video card and cheaper:

also would this be good for video capturing and editing?

Well, what is the most you can afford???

Any of those systems will play this game rather well. Each of these systems come with a quad-core processor so video capturing and editing will be pretty quick.

1. As said all will play it well. "Well" tends to be in the high settings range
2. Yes
3. Its an open world game, so yes.
4. See ^
5. Downloading is dependent on your internet connection, and editing is dependent on your personal ability to be quick.

The Radeon 5770 will allow you to max the "vanilla" game out up to a 1920x1200 or 1920x1080 resolution.

Being that the game is open world and transition areas with cells, the time intervals to load the next cell may produce a little stutter/lag. Depends on settings, hard drive performance, and amount of RAM. Hard to give a precise answer on this one, but you will probably see somestutter/lag. This is where SSDs, which are expensive, can help.

If you get that computer it should work good for a lot of games. I recently bought a similiar computer. Just don't expect to have an easy time getting Fallout 3 to work. It doesn't seem to like Windows 7 at all.

On the contrary, Fallout LOVES windows 7 for me. Loves it so much that the larger address space boosted performance over XP by 10-15FPS

You shouldn't throw out blanket statements unless you know for sure it covers everything.
