I noted this on another thread, but you only need to the first 2 modes challenge to unlock stuff. The hardest levels are for bragging rights.

Guns are also unlocked in this fashion, though add-ons for the guns are not. Instead, you’ll have to take on various missions to unlock, say, specific barrel rifling or drum mags or whatever. The missions offer three tiers of difficulty, with the first two tiers offering unlockable items and the third being exclusively for bragging rights.

So the challenge mode won't make do the impossible for guns and add ons. Good for the casual gamer.

:/ hmmmm still sceptical about this because then after is sais that it doesnt make a diffrence.

quote:The gun enhancements don’t inherently make the guns better as much as they make them different, increasing stats while decreasing others, so you won’t be inherently better for having the gear… though it’s noted that if you have these items, you completed the missions to get them, and as such, are probably not someone to be messed with. The different guns also work in the same way, meaning that no one gun is better than any other

it does, lets say you add a extended mag to a gun, the benifit is you will have more ammo in one clip, the bad news is it will reduce a stat, mabey firing speed or reload speed, not by a whole lot (depending on your gun and attachment), and ALL attachments reduce the equip speed (how fast you can take it out) because it makes the gun heavier.

attachments just let you specialize your gun, like if you want your gun to shoot faster and dont mind losing power or range then you would add the appropriate attachments.

Balanced does not mean equal, so although every weapon is balanced there are cetainly weapons that are better than others.

guns do not start with attachments, you need to add them if there unlocked, each part of the gun can hold one attachment, like the barrel, magazine, rail (the top part idk what its called but the ironsights/scope goes there), the handle (the grip), etc.

Depends what gun you have tho, cant have a scope and a drum magazine(that bug clip you see on MG's) with a gun sling on a pistol :P

Each article I've read seems to have issues with the shooting/aiming. Gamesradar says the weapons all seem samey, and some other place said the aiming was sloppy. Lets hope SD address this before release.

I take this (and most complaints they have) with a grain of salt. Usually complaints like this, stem from the journalists FPS exposure being limited to COD, Halo, Killzone and/or Bad Company. Many (if not all) of the previews I have read, are written by people who have no exposure to an SD game, so even if the shooting was exactly like it was in previous SD games, they have no basis to accurately compare it to.

No, Challenges would be a whole new mode with scriped sections I believe

Challenges would probably follow the lines of something like this:

Tier 1
  • Acquire one hundred kills for YeoTek/C-U-Gone/D-Flex RDS
  • Acquire thirty kills with this gun from the back for silencers
  • Acquire accuracy of 50% or more in one match with this gun for grips

Tier 2
  • Acquire five hundred kills for COGA/Snoop-R/Greeneye Scope
  • Acquire a streak of eight kills with this gun without dying for gun sling
  • Acquire accuracy of 70% or more in one match with this gun for four-vent/six-vent muzzle break

Tier 3
  • Acquire two thousand kills in total with this gun for bonus camouflage
  • Acquire a streak of fifteen kills with this gun without dying for bonus camouflage
  • Acquire accuracy of 90% or more in one match with this gun for bonus camouflage

Alternatively, the rewards for Tier 3 challenges could just be the pride and feeling of accomplishment you'd get for actually beating some of the hardest challenges in the game.
