Gauldur Amulet disappointment

Better than most of the other amulets and stuff you find. And better than something overpowered.

There should be some lore telling why it is diminished from its former power.

I think it is because they broke it into three pieces. Pretty obvious to me. "Then why isn't stronger after Gauldur recombines it?" The damage was done and he did the best he could, or he doesn't want it to be that powerful again. He doesn't want history to repeat itself.

I like the amulet. I enjoy the entire quest. It is hard and it is fun.

i havnt completed the quest just yet but i was aware of the stats, anywho i dont think its weak at all, like others have said 9 ''free'' levels isnt really weak at all, i was expecting it to have some unique enchantment though i was disapointed because it didnt have that but overall its a pretty good amulet.

I make my own equipment, so all the in-game stuff is basically just a collectible - but I actually enjoyed the Gauldur quest storyline and reforging the amulet, so while I never wear it, I consider it to be a favorite jewelry item in my collection.

I think that depends on what you want.
If you're reward-driven in the way you play then maybe you'll want more - (but then you'll always want more?) - if you are of the opinion that the journey is in many ways more important than the destination then I don't see it's a problem. Niamh has been wearing it since she got it, and I think it's a really useful piece of kit and the whole quest line to get it was a lot of "fun" to do, and challenging to.
That's obviously my opinion and I can't speak for your subjective experience...

Well, it's not so much that I always want more... it's that I would like a proportional reward. For example, I think the Mace of Molag-Bal is TOO strong for what you have to do to get it. The Gauldur Amulet is not strong enough for what you have to do to get it.

Same here; even though the reward was pitiful compared to my custom items, the way the quest unfolded made pursuing it worthwhile. I did feel it could have been a bit longer, given that these are supposed to be Artifacts of Ultimate Power?, but under the circumstances any extension would have just been padding.

I also agree with this, although in a broader sense: some artifacts are more worthwhile to pursue than others, usually because they have a better story behind them. I found the Molag Bal quest wholly unsatisfactory, and could see the 'surprise twist' coming from miles away, while Meridia's quest would still be worth doing with a lesser reward.

I don't think it's lame or weak at all. 30+ on all stats is very useful.
It is good, I use it all the time.

And storywise, it would'nt be the same strength as originally, because ti was broken into 3 pieces and fixed.
Maybe Gaulder did'nt want it to cause the same trouble it did before.

The amulet itself isn't the problem... it's the challenge level of the quest leading up to getting it. You have to beat 3 pretty hard bosses and then beat their ghosts, too. The reward hardly seems worth the work it took to get there.

I agree amulet is useless but the quests are really fun getting to it
