Gauntlet of Redemption.

The idea is that the players will have to run a series of games that we make, which suits there character best depending on what is written on there character sheet. They will endure many painful test, alone and with others, for there lives and for answers.

Meanwhile, two or three other people play as masters of the game, who control and observe every inch of what is happening. There will be three different roles for these.

The Game Master. The mysterious person behind the gauntlet, who runs the show and tells the other two what he or she expects. He will play a hand in every detail of the gauntlet, though not giving each one his full attention, trusting his or her two companions to do there job.

The Trap Maker. When the Game Master does not make traps of his own, this person does. He sets up the traps, deciding what restrains the person, how they are going to get unrestrained, whether it be by sawing off a limb or digging into skin. He plays the second most important role, the Game Master being the first.

The Editor. While the Trap Maker and Game Master do there work, someone has to keep everything fixed the way that the Game Master wishes. The Editor, is a janitor of sorts. He test's the traps, the recordings played, the doors. He cleans up the dead bodies of past players who had failed. The idea is that the players will have to run a series of games that we make, which suits there character best depending on what is written on there character sheet. They will endure many painful test, alone and with others, for there lives and for answers.

The Editor is what keeps things running in the backround. Sometimes when required, he will find ways to supply utilities into a room or outdoor area. Gas, electricity, water. These things, he can find some way to work with. It is also the Editor's job to tend to the Game Master, if he needs help.

Meanwhile, the players of the gauntlet will PM me a character sheet in this format.

NameL
Alignment:
Gender:
Physical Description:

History:

Known to have:

I will look your character sheets over, and judging from there physical description, history, and the thing they are most known for, the first trap to suit that character will be made.

If you wish to have a Editor or Trap Maker role, and have any questions, feel free to say them. As for the plot. That will be developed as the roleplay goes.

This is interesting, but a bit out there. It doesn't look like people are gonna go for it though.

Seems that way. People are more for the "Dude! Lets fight a behemoth!" roleplays :P

No one wants to play a gam- err, play a character that gets tortured and has to work with others then?

What did I do wrong this time, if anything, on the making then?

I think it's kind of a matter of people not wanting to take a character they created in their minds, give him to you, then watch you torture and kill that character. Plus theres been like a thousand Saw movies

Ahh, I see what the prolblem is. I wouldn't take the character and be like,

"Your character walks into room, gets tortured painfully, and dies... the end."

All I would be doing is describing the traps in the four-eight rooms they have to go to, and giving very very tiny hints of ways they could get through these traps unharmed. They would have to work together to get through these traps, figuring out logical/common sense ways that would actually escape the human mind and what not.

There would be two ways to do each room, but a limited of time, each post accounting for one minute, with the exception of all intitial post made by players per room.

The Obvious way. The way that is basically staring you in the face, your character wouldn't want to do, but you make the choice on if they do it or not.

The not so obvious but very obvious way. All that needs to be done is a little use of common sense and small thinking, and then you could walk out unscathed.
