GCD stats question

Post » Tue Oct 26, 2010 12:42 am

I've been using GCD and love it, but lately I've been noticing that some of my stat increases show in white text, as if enhanced instead of being natural. What does this mean? Will they reduce if I don't do something to keep them there? I feel like this may have happened at some point already but I honestly can't remember that well.

Yeah, now I have the proof. My strength is at 103 without any items that boost it, yet it shows as white, as if boosted artificially. If I get drained by an undead or whatever, the max I can restore it to is 98. What the heck?

My axe skill also shows as being buffed, yet is not. Is the mod borked or am I supposed to be doing something when I see white text like that?

In my setup, the white doesn't mean anything - it comes and goes. So for instance, perhaps I get drained by some spell - the stat goes red. Later, after all influences are removed, I cast a Restore spell. Up comes the stat (several of mine are over 100), it turns bold white. Then after reapplying any augmentation and closing the menu then removing the augmentation and checking back, it might go to regular white, but it will be at the correct 'natural' value.

I can't understand why you can't boost it back over 98. Make sure there are no enchantments acting on your character. Make sure you have cured any diseases/blight. Make sure you have removed any curses by whatever means (e.g. are you using NoM and are you drunk?) Make sure no augmenting spell is in effect. Cast a Restore spell or visit an altar/Tribunal shrine. Note that Restore doesn't necessarily restore the number of points indicated; I find I might have to cast 2 or more times depending on how damaged the stat is. You should be able to keep going until you reach your natural level.

Does that help?

Yeah, I have also noticed the alternating normal/white situation. After I posted this, I went in a place, got drained, restored it, and suddenly was able to go up to 108 instead of 98, which seems right based on my concerns initially. Still, it seems like it's somewhat fickle. I am immune to diseases at this point in my game, so I don't have anything like that going. I am also using the restoration Restore Strength spell, and it packs a punch over quite a length of time.

When I restored to 98, it showed that as the natural stat. When I restored the next time after a reload in a different location, it restored to 108, which was showing as bright white. Very peculiar. I guess I just have to watch it like a hawk.

It does help to know the display is normal for the mod regardless. Thanks.
