Yes lets slide down the slippery slope and assume the worst.

Bethesda has done it's demo reveal for OB, FO3 and F:NV(possibly MW too) at E3 and Skyrim will be no different.

An official theatrical trailer is on it's way long before that and as always will include game play footage if only 30 secs of it.

That's a bummer but I think Bethesda has a better way to show off stuff then at a convention.

Really? Then why have they done demo reveals of oblivion, fallout 3, and new vegas at e3 which is a convention?

The game trailer will be revealing but still on Beth's terms of what they want to show and how they want to show it. The demo reveal is the most anticipated because it will put the game into the hands of a couple of outsiders for 10 min each and then we will see the game world as we can expect it to be for us.

E3 is the be all to end all for electronics media coverage so they won't miss the opportunity for their biggest reveal to be there.

In my opinion they would be better off showing it in a Blog post. They can do that whenever and with Twitter and Facebook it can spread like Wildfire.

This. Too bad e3 is four months away though.

I'm going to PAX East. When Bethesda says they will be there, I'm assuming they mean gamesas and not BGS, unless BGS is going to show off yet another game they have in development. Bummer.

Oh well. Irrational will be there with Bioshock Infinite, and I get to attend their party :P

Yes they do but quakecon is two months after e3 so it really doesn't matter.

It's also an invitation only limited media coverage private event. Great for shiz n giggles but not much good for promo's.

Ah, I had forgotten about Rage. I've actually been anticipating that game.

Now I just wish I knew who would be showing off what things on what days :P

Now I'm worried about a timely release. If the first reveal of skyrim (gameplay, video, trailer, demo, whatever) isn't until e3 in june, five months before 11/11/11, that doesn't bode well.

No, I think that just means they have a pretty rigid, predetermined schedule they want to stick with. They've already said how committed they are to a 11/11/11 release date.

Website relaunch should be no later than the end of march I would think right? That would be almost four months from the skyrim announcement in december.

My guess is a video trailer will come out in March or April and some form of Playable section will be present at E3. I am Pretty sure that was the way they planned the Oblivion release (they let people play the character creation and the 1st dungion at E3). We know the game is very playable now and what bigger way to hype the game 5 months before release and guarantee the Game of the Year than with a playable E3 demo. Plus they will undoubtably win Best of E3 which looks great on boxes when the game is released.
I have little doubt that they will go far beyond just a trailer for E3

Well, I'll still be at PAX to say hi to all-yalls. If they have free energy drinks out front out of shady pick-up trucks like last year I'll grab you some. It'll be thirsty work, repeating "no comment" over and over about Skyrim :D
