Do you mean it crashes when you try to load Interior cells or world cells ?
If interiors, create a new empty cell, place inside every custom object you placed in the crashing cell until the geck crash again : You have found the wrong object. Delete it or fix it.
Don't be fooled if it seems OK in the object editor. It can crash when placed in world. And if you changed anything on the object properties after the first placement it will crash the geck each time it tries to display it.
If it is a world cell it is probably a corrupted object too. Otherwise you would get a warning before the crash (lots of warnings, in fact)

Is there any way to track down such objects?

Also the geck crashes if I move too fast between cells

To track down the objects just do as I said before. Place them one by one in the render window, preferably in a new cell, until the geck crashes. Then the object you were placing is the defective one. You can narrow the search to objects you modified yourself.
It is only one of the possible reasons for a crash but it doesn't hurt to try this first because it is the most probable.

Moving too fast between cells, you mean panning in the render window ? It's normal. Wait until the geck has finished it's rendering before moving to the next cell or it wil freeze or crash.
