GECK install won't work

Post » Wed Jun 02, 2010 4:35 am

Hi. I've dloaded the GECK thing from bethesda but no matter whether I install from the winzip window or extract it to a new locale, it always comes up with the same error during install (IE: This application has failed to start because libvorbisfile.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem). WTF?
I've thrown out the dload and tried again but still no joy.
Any ideas?

Thanks for any help.

The NV geck isnt an installer. Pop the exe into your FalloutNV folder.

Also, copy your "lex" folder from your Fallout 3 directory into the FalloutNV so you have a dictionary, and look up the script error box fix/loader

Ah HA! Thanks very much for this suggestion. My son is now happily able to do whatever it is that the GECK allows him to do and I therefore owe you a debt of thanks.

Well you can also tell its not an installer because it does not have the installer logo all installers have (hence its opened with Install Shield or something similiar) so thats a hint it is the actual thing.
