Geck Keyboard Mappings

Post » Fri May 06, 2011 8:32 am

As the title says, I am trying to compile a complete list of Geck Keyboard Mappings. But I have a few questions about a few of them. Some don't seem to work, while others seem to have a function that I cannot figure out. So here are the ones I am curious about. If you have any insight to any of them, please let me know....

Shift + I - Get Reference Data - What exactly is this used for?
Ctrl + M - Move References. Fully cut and paste references w/exact IDs. This doesn't appear to do anything.
P - Save Local Map Snapshot to Game\Data\Textures\Maps\. This doesn't appear to do anything either.
V - This is supposed to toggle leaves, but does not. Used in conjunction with the mouse, it does zoom in and out.
S - This is supposed to toggle Sound objects, but does not.
4 - This does something with the Frustrum, but I cannot tell what use it is.
0 - This toggles some kind of view, but again, I cannot tell what use it has.
F10 - Brings up the TES Construction Set Scene Graph window. What use is this?

Here is what I have so far. If you see anything that is missing, again, please let me know so I can update my file.

I don't really use the GECK enough for anything aside from compiling scripts to comment on any of its keyboard mappings, but I do know that the GECK Wiki has two pages dedicated to them, perhaps you'd like to check them out:
  • http://geck.gamesas.com/index.php/Shortcuts

EDIT:

Oh, I see you've already found the main one. Hopefully someone will be able to answer http://geck.gamesas.com/index.php/Talk:GECK_Keyboard_Mapping

The 0 (zero) key seems to toggle between perspective and orthographic views in the render window.
The V key doesn't function as listed... broken or mismapped perhaps? Supposed to be the same as VIEW -> LEAVES, which toggles the greenery on the landscape bushes, not trees.

edit: them links explain a bit, though not sure why the geck lists the V key as something different then the wiki does.

The first time I found that pane (Edit->Render Window Hotkeys), I almost flipped-out in how many different things the GECK can actually do.

Makes me feel like a noob every time.

@ Cipscis - I never saw that 'shortcut' page before. Thanks.
@ Bonedog - Yeah, there are a few discrepancies that I am trying to figure out along with some others that I have no idea how they work.
@ Miaximus - Wow! I really never saw that render window hot key page in the Geck. I am a noob. It almost makes all the work I have done to put my little file together superfluous. Thanks, buddy.

Most welcome - and trust me, I'm just as much a noob as you are - I felt exactly the same way when I pulled-up that menu (lol).

And with the NV-GECK coming out, Lord knows how many more things we will get to play with and learn! At this rate we will be noobs for years to come. :foodndrink:
