GeckCustom.ini missing

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 5:52 pm

I have used the GECK before, and have changed the required line to allow multiple masterfiles. I know where to look, and what to look for. The problem is, after installing Fallout and the GECK on a new computer, the file Geckcustom.ini is not in existence. I have checked in the "my games" folder in Documents, as well as many other places. I have also run a system check to match files with that name, which came up with nothing. Has anyone else had this problem? And if so, how can i get this file? I am actually using the GECK for an English project, so a quick response is fairly critical.

This file isn't created after you run the game for the first time is it? I don't actually know, the file was there when I used GECK but I'd been playing the game for a few days before then.

I do not believe it is created until you run the geck at least once. Try opening the geck, loading Fallout.esm and changing some random things (load into a random cell, then move like 5 peices around randomly.) then close the geck and do not save. It should then have an ini file. I am interested as to what you are using this for English for.

Thank you both. You were both correct. As a response to Gunmaster, this is being used machinima-style as a "book promotion" for the short story "The Most Dangerous Game". I will post this on Youtube when it's done, which should be later next week. My youtube username is VD913. I just have a thing for the number 913. And the letter V. Actually there's a story behind that, but that's for another post on a different forum.

Awsome, glad we helped. And I have a thing with the word Gunmaster and the number 95, but only together. :P But that too is for another day, in another place.
