Gecko-Backed Reinforced Metal Armor..

Post » Wed Jul 27, 2011 8:25 am

.. Is currently glitched. It shows that I'm wearing Metal Armor and Gecko Armor AT THE SAME TIME which decreases my Agility by 2 instead of 1. This is pretty significant... Anyway to get around this? On Xbox 360 btw..

Why on Earth would you want to wear Metal Armor?

Anyways, I've never heard of that glitch before. Possibly looking it up on the wiki may help. :)

Kinda fits my roleplay. I'm a Berserker to Heavy Armor fits it much better then other ones. Gecko Backed is 20 DT so its not too bad.

Ah I have a glitch with metal armor. It leaves a permanent -1 Agility penalty. How do I get rid of this?

Did you, by any chance, have metal armor equipped, then used that armor to repair another?

If so, it's not good.

i have that glitch... i was wearing the armour as i crafted the Gecko version... did not go well. i can't get rid of this -1 agility, even when i equip the same armour type it was and un-equip.

...if it had a visible change of appearance it'd be Ok, but its kinda annoying for 15% resistance bonus when i've got OWB nuking all poison that tries to get me, there's little radiation in Mojave, and fire is thwarted by my DT anyway.

You can offset the glitch with another. Wear any pre-war outfit that grants +1 AG, then sell it to the Sierra Madre vending machine in the Abandoned BOS bunker. Of course, that requires having Dead Money.

And completing it, since you need the 'Return Outfit' code for the machine before it will accept them.

Do bear in mind that the AGI boost from the Vending Machine Glitch will not count when determining if you have enough AGI for certain perks, as it checks against base values rather than boosted ones.

Isn't the same true for the reductions? Or do they impact perk choices?

Yes, so cancelling out the negative with the positive glitch will amend this without affecting the base value itself. The armor only adds or takes away from the base; it does not affect the base itself.

Perks and Traits are more or less the only way to have an actual "permanent" effect on the base value without including console commands and the beginning character setup.
