While reading this, a bit of inspiration struck me...so...here's extempore rhyme...
THE GEEK'S PROPOSAL
Oh, yes, dear, these things do happen,
Even through the clutter of modernity's trappings,
Even if paper and pen and all that then,
is obsolete, relics from the age of way-back-when,
Even if we use the net to boast and ourselves to cloak,
Even if they say rings are as outmoded as chests of oak,
Even if every day we hear of something new under the sun-
We know - don't we? - that 'old school' has truly all the fun -
And so, Puffy and Hubby, or should I say 'Hubby-to-be'
Let your laughter run riot and imagination run free
Let there be love beyond all the depths of the sea
For in the end ... Love is what makes this world that we see.
Ah, yes, Love. It amazes. It crazes. And it erases all the wounds of the world,
An armour against Life's thorns, a balm 'gainst spears that are hurled,
A re-affirmation of truth that lurks around every corner of your life -
That the potential of heaven is there in every husband and wife.
Knowing this, young ones, be humble and be proud
That Love has chosen ye from within the swirling crowd
of those with anger, despair, and denial of God's Grace -
For Love is the only way on earth to see that mystery's face.
