Hello, I was wondering if there would be a possibility of proposing to my boyfriend through Fallout 3, perhaps through a mod? I am not sure if I could create a mod to do so, or learn of someone who could help me, point me in the right direction... But I would GREATLY GREATLY appreciate it. :D I am willing to learn how to do this, as long as I found detailed instructions. LOL. :D Please please please, let me know :) :fallout:

I admire your creative spirit!

@ *Puffy*Puppy*

Congratulations on finding someone you love and want to spend the rest of your life with!

If my girl proporsed to me this way... well.. I`d die happy right then and there.

If your making a list of people who have agreed to help, Put my name down on it.

I dont have a lot of time at the moment, but this is something that any modder would be proud to be a part of, so I`ll make time!

When you have writen the events and dialogue you want to happen. Post it all here, and we`ll break it down between the people who want to help you get married.

Good luck

Skykappa.

Edit: We demand pictures of the wedding afterwards!

What I find funny while reading this thread...

when someone new to modding posts about his ideas, you all flame him. Then a girl comes along with no modding skills (none as far as I'm aware of) and you give her praise for her idea AND offer to help...

Vendayn,

I`ve never flamed anyone, but you have to admit, this isn`t your usual request for help, and deserves attention from anyone who loves love, romance and Fallout 3 modding.

We don't flame him, we warn him of the difficulty and that it's unreasonable to expect someone to make said mod. Then someone comes along with an idea that tickles our GEEK gland and we have no choice but to help her. The reason this took off is because it's a really cute idea. :)

Nah, it's not just that she's a girl. I've gotten testy with plenty of girl modders who didn't want to do any work making a mod. It's that she's a girl who wants to learn how to mod for something that's awfully cute.

I mean, hell, if I can be moved to sympathy, I who's very heart is powered on little more than misogyny and angry, then what chance does a normal person have? :P

TL;DR: When you make that female account, make sure the request is cute and touching like this one. :D

What the corporal said, besides (and probably most importantly) she didn't say it has to be a big wedding, err, add on.
We'll do that for her :D

Acolyte went to his brothers wedding 2yrs ago. Now that was a big wedding. Everyone was taller than him, even the bride had at least 6in. and 80 pnds on him.

haha, well I do admit...the idea is really cool, especially for being married. I was (mostly) being sorta sarcastic lol, cause I was just reading an idea thread and everyone was putting him down :P

I do like the idea and hope it works out for both of you.

what is this wedding that you speak of?? haha. :D is there such a possibility? to have a fallout wedding in game? LOL. if so, i might like that to come after his yes answer LOL. and who is ackey? :( me clueless. sound cute though haha

you guys have no idea... when i have an idea, and i find an outlet..i try in SO many ways to get it to work, mostly to see if it will even be possible. i actually had no idea where to go and what to do, so i had contacted tech support and they told me to send them an email with my question, and they might fwd it to development. but i haven't heard anything since then. i found the blog, i emailed the,, and then i called back and then a lady told me to check out the forum and said something about MODS.. my jaw dropped!!! i was SOOO excited. i had no idea that you could do ANY customization with this game. But you know, if a powerful enough game is made, it has an open end for the user, such as this. so i am so greatful on so many levels. glad i called back, glad there is a forum, SO EXCITED that there is possibility and ssooososos thankful to have you guys here. its not just because i am a chick, if i were a guy, i would be just as excited and want to learn just as much. but i would probably act gay if i were a guy because i am too smiley. lol.

just the possibility..its like "we have air? and i can have some? omg." i can't wait until i get the game this weekend, so i can get geck working, and START practicing. and gathering all of the infossss. then seek out you, the masters!!! :D eeee!

thank youuuuuuuuuu. :D i am on a tiny laptop to get the internet, so in a few days, i will have this on a normal screen, normal comp, keyboard and mouse, and i am going to study away, take notes, grab ideas from here and write your names down. :D

------

some of my nerdy accomplishments :

got kevin smith to say "Happy Birthday" to him on video :D at a book signing, i made a card, had it autographed, his book was signed and mine said "i love you forever - kevin smith" haha.

got an autographed poster from the director of FIDO (zombie movie) --i think my fav. :D me love fido. poster for bday, then for xmas, i made a his and hers zombie collar with sheet metal and soldering

made an alien egg for a facehugger , well, a few eggs.

made him into zoidberg with a bart simpson mask and a red ladies glove, got a lab coat embroidered "Dr. Zoidberg"

*** can't wait to add this accomplishment :) ***

meee tooo :D :D

*************

for safety purposes, i think that i should not put it online until after i've proposed with it, because i don't want it catching on, or ppl spreading it in case he sees it. i don't know how this stuff works, but if i get pretty far, then eventually done, i could email it to someone to check it out, if the file is email-able, because i don't want it hosted yet, you know? :)

ok, 1 ...

CAN i design my own dress in geck>>>??? :o *gasp*!?? ( i am going to be an offbeatbride .com ) so i want to have a colored dress anyways, might be red and black with a corset. or pink and black. but might use this dress for the mod! thanks for the link!!! :D

2... and this is important... LOL

should i tell him that i am making something fallout-ish for his anniv. present and i am getting advice on how to craft it? so he should stay away from the forums, in case he sees my question. (( he knows i do a lot of crafting, NEVER technical, so i think he would assume that i am making a bobble head in 3d, or something like a pipboy, not a MOD. -- which i have thought of making as a prop of some sort.. but, he doesnt even know there are mods available. i got him to take interest in playing on PC already. he said he would want to because it loads faster than the 360, and then he said i might be able to change the songs on the radio. he didnt say anything about mods lol. *phew* ))

but i am thinking that i would rather tip him off on a fallout present, than him coming here and finding out. LOL. because he is looking into the PC version now. which means he might be in the vicinity.

for 1
you would have to use an external program such as blender to make the dress model then import it into the geck

and for 2

i personally would not say anything to him, and when your ready to present it to him, make up an excuse to get him on the pc version =D

ok, i told him that i am crafting something for him that is about 2 x 3 feet and its pretty big, and i went to a forum to seek visual advice and that he should not go to a forum centered on any one game. he totally must know its fallout 3, because i suddenly have more interest in it. but he should have NO clue what i am making. as in, a physical object.

so now that i feel safe... WANNA SEE THE RING?!?!? LOL. i got it today in the MAILLLLLL. i am 100x more excited now. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. :D

Acolyte, the semi-fictional sidekick of Bossman Andy, 9ft 2in and 370pnds :D
And he really needs to go on a diet...

PS
what really needs to be done is find out whether he knows your screen name. If so, then this thread needs to closed soon and sink into the forum depths asap. Kinda needs to be done prolly anyway, rereading it thi is waay to detailed. If if was me -checks for girlfriend, nope- I would recognize this as me in a heartbeat..
This is what we do:
So, first you do some sneaky investigative work and find out exactly what your boyfriend would like to see in a mod. Since your his girlfriend, this should be easy :D
Then we start up a fake wipz that embodies everything hubby to be ever wanted to see in a mod. We'll generate scripted pvssyr on the thread, so that he's drooling when we "release it". as far as he knows, it's just another mod that happens to cater diectly to his gaming wants. He can even follow the fake Wipz!!
Then when the big release date arrives, you make a nice gaming evening out of it, specially for him, and halfway through the mod he gets the surprise of his life.
Afterwards you might want to turn off the machine... being preocupied and all...
This sounds delightfully devious in a daringly do-able way
To the batcave!!

Acolyte doesn't fit down the pole. He'll take the stairs, again [sigh]

Hmm, cute idea, definitely possible idea, tho the difficulty goes from a 5 min project to a very very long one depending on what exactly do you want to do.

The first thing you need to do is to think well in what you want. Think in what you have seen of the game so far, almost anything already in the game can be duplicated, moved and repurposed.
what exactly do you want to happen?, when (ingame) do you want it to happen?.

we are safe, he won't go near here, now. :D yeehaw. but that would be cool, a fake thread for when it comes close to the time? haha. so BRILLIANT! ;)

i will think about what he wants to see in the mod.. never thought about it. i just tried to think of how pretty i could make it hahaha. like, throw glitter on the walls, have flowers blooming from every crack and have the cutest doodles on the walls. not exactly what he would have in mind. lol. gooooood iiideaaa ;)

i am going to go crazy and i dont even have the game yet. DAYS, just DAYS!!

ok, off to my bat cave now lol. must sleep before work and bro's graduation directly afterwards.

ttyl !!! :D :D sweet dreams of falling out thrice.

Yes. If you help Angela Staley seduce Diego in Rivet City, you can watch them get married. The exact dialog path is something like "Do the men on this ship give you trouble? -> You're a woman, just seduce him! -> Okay, I'll help you."

made an alien egg for a facehugger , well, a few eggs.

Aww, thanks, but you don't have to do that. Just reading about how it goes (hopefully well) will be satisfying enough for me.
