GeForce 8800 GT crashing

Post » Wed Aug 26, 2009 9:59 am

Please help. I should have the min req to play but the game keeps freezing with graphics frozen. Then goes BSOD on me.
I have update my Nvidia driver.
I went into the control panel and changed Valve Steam to lowest settings:
Anisotropic filtering OFF
Antialiasing OFF
Antialiasing Mode OFF
Texture filtering - Anisotropic OFF
Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias- Allow
Texture filtering- Quality Use global setting (Quality)
Texture filtering - Trilenear opt - OFF
Threaded optimization - OFF ((Tried both ways))
Vertical Sync - tried all ways but no chance - set now to Use the 3D app

Here are my specs

Could be a hardware issue there if your getting a BSOD, check the temperature on your machine to make sure somethings not overheating.

50C is a little hight for CPU, I'd check your cooling, clean out dust, make sure the fans good and the thermal compound hasnt gone off.

I run two sli 8800 Gt's and have absolute no issues on the PC. They are not overclocked though.

Monitor Max Res: 1600,1200

you have your resolution in game set too high, lower it to at least 1600 x 1200, I'd go one step lower even

Well, I cleaned my PC - it wasn't too bad but it did drop the temp - so I needed that:

NOW:
CPU Temperature = 48 C
GPU 0 Temperature = 63 C

I also changed the Res to the lowest ... tried it on all the settings. Nothing works to fix it.
Still crashing :-(

Also - it is not crashing on anything else I use... I play GW and Oblivion both and they are spot-on.

Brink seems to be very memory hungry so might also be worth running a full memtest to see if you have a dodgy stick of ram. If other games arent using as much ram they might not trigger is what Im thinking.

I checked mem and it was fine.

Urrrrr

I was able to play for about 10 min but then crashing again!
The BSOD tells me something about it being caught in a loop.

I think the game has a memory leak.

I have everything down to a min and no other programs running in the background.
