GeForce GTX760 Ti not being detected.

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 7:38 am

Ok, so I purchased the game on steam, downloaded and I'm having a problem, the game launcher is not detecting my video card, GeForce GTX760 Ti 2GB. I already tried everything, made countless google searches and nothing can make this game work, I mean, I can't even open the game because it crashes righ after I press Play. Why, in god's name, the game is not detecting my video card, I can't even change the aspect ratio or the resolution, plus the insta crash after pressing play, and from what I could see on my google searches, this is happening to a lot of people. I barely purchased the game and I'm already thinking, very seriously, to uninstall and ask for a refund, I mean, I've spent 60 dollars on this, well, I don't even know how to call this disaster, because I can't even play the damn game.

As a fellow GTX 760 user I can only tell you the game does work with the card and, from my experience, really damn well, so it's not an incompatibility.

The obvious answers I can think of are:

- Update your drivers and if that fails do a clean driver install.

- Make sure your monitor is plugged in to a GPU port and not the motherboard monitor port or the game will try and use your onboard. This is a known issue.

GPU driver is updated to version 359.00, but even with the previous version, 358.91, I get the same problem. And about the GPU port, that's nothing wrong with it, I mean, Oblivion, Skyrim, FO3, FNV, Witcher 3, Borderlands 2/Pre-Sequel, Batman Arkham Knight, Killing Floor 2...etc, all these games are working perfectly, just FO4 is giving me this unidentified video card problem, which btw, is really pissing me of !

P.S.: I forgot to say, my motherboard doesn't have an onboard GPU, so that can be discarded as a related problem !

Not just 760's 750's as well, which might also be stopping the LCD native fullscreen widowed mode. But it's the launcher failing to read the correct registry key. No idea why, as I have recently reinstalled/played Oblivion/FO3 and NV and each of there launchers detected it correctly

Great...so there's no fix for this stupid annoying problem and all we can do is wait for Bethesda's good will to fix this problem, IF they're going to fix it at all, or wait for a modder to do their job, again !

I can also chime in with confirmation that it's not the game as I also have a GTX760 ti that runs FO4 perfectly I also have 2 other comps running GTX 970 and 960's I did have one using 2 radeon 4870's that the game would not play at all though.

A little update, I deleted everything, game 1st then the driver, removed the GPU driver on Safe Mode using Display Driver Uninstaller, rebooted and installed again, then Steam downloaded the game again, and now at least I can play, BUT my video card is still not being identified and I still can't change the resolution and aspect ratio !

The other thing to try would be to switch drivers if your using manufacturer or Nvidia to switch to using the opposite, I personally all 3 of my boxes are using Nvidia.

It doesn't matter which driver version I use, I already tried at least 3 or 4 different versions and it's the same thing every single time, the damn game launcher never detects my video card.
