[RELz] Gem Dust Forging and Alchemy

Post » Wed Dec 04, 2013 7:27 am

I've made a small mod that allows you to crush up gemstones and soul gem fragments at the Forge to create Gem Dust that can be used in alchemy. I was searching the nexus for something, couldn't find anything so decided to make my own. Just thought I'd share incase anyone would like to use it

Gem Dust Forging and Alchemy

Description:
Transform all vanilla gems and soul gem fragments into Gem Dust to use in Alchemy. I was inspired to make this mod as my character is accruing a lot of gems she does not want to sell but didn't want to keep them all in a chest. Now they have another use in game.

Garnets, Amethysts and Ruby's can be crushed to form Red Gem Dust.
Sapphires and Emeralds can be crushed to form Blue Gem Dust.
Diamonds are crushed into Black (carbon) Dust.
Soul Gem Fragments create Soul Gem Dust.

Each Gem or Fragment will yield one unit of dust. Flawless gems will yield 2 units.

Dust Properties:
Red Dust - value 5g
1. Paralysis
2. Ravage Health
3. Ravage Magicka
4. Ravage Stamina

Blue Dust - value 5g
1. Cure Disease
2. Regenerate Health
3. Regenerate Magicka
4. Regenerate Stamina

Black Dust - value 10g
1. Fortify Alchemy
2. Invisibility
3. Fortify Carry Weight
4. Fortify Barter

Soul Gem Dust - value 5g
1. Fortify enchanting
2. Lingering Magicka Damage
3. Weakness to Magicka
4. Damage Magicka Regen

All types of gem dust are made by using the forge, this means they will also contribute to raising your smithing skill. Great for mages or other characters who would otherwise struggle to raise this skill! Dust can then be found in your ingredient tab to be used in potion making.

How to use:
Go to the forge, and gem dust will be listed under Misc.
Recipes will now only be displayed for gems that you have in your inventory, for less clutter. If you prefer to see all recipes you can use the older 1.0 version of this mod.

All other details available on the Nexus Site

I'll give it a shot. I'm at the point in my game where the more stuff I can crush up to make potions, the more fun I have.
