Gems and Gem Dust crash

It is, and that version is recommended by many FCOM users. I thought Corepc recommended it to you already...


Hmmm, I thought Corepc was making it pretty clear that I had to choose between G&GD and OOO/FCOM? Did I misunderstand something?

Yes, that's what I thought, too. Good to know my understanding is slowly getting more complete. :)

I've been playing for almost two hours now without incident. (hear that knocking sound? heh, heh) Anyway, I think that maybe I'm back to a fairly stable situation where I can think about adding something else into the mix. And you say http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21102 is OK for use with FCOM, recommended even? Sounds good to me. Looks like it makes G&GD even more functional. It also says geomancy has been preserved, which is an interesting bonus!

But it's back to work in a few hours now, so I'll have to shelve it until later. Thanks again for all the input. I'll let you know how the OOO_Geomancy_Gem_Dust_OBSE addition went once I've got it in there and tested it a little.

I would add that mod if I used G&GD, just as I recently added the OBSE version of DLT. The extensions of OBSE versions of mods are almost always valuable enough for me to pick up that version.

I basically merged the two myself. If you read the readme it allows you to grind multiple gems while preserving the geomancy system of OOO. It is completely compatible with FCOM.

Yes, I read your readme, and it sounds great! I've just been having trouble with my FCOM build and have been leary of adding anything in until things settled down a little. Last night I think I got some of the nastier bugs worked out, so I went ahead and DL'd the mod. I'll try it out later this evening and see how it works. If I can grind gems/nuggets w/out a CTD, I will consider it a huge success, even w/out the added perks you've built in!

Funny you should mention that. I noticed last night that it wasn't working. And since I did not get a separate download for that one, I am sure I'm not running the OBSE version. I'll have to look that one up, too. Thanks, man! You continue to be a wealth of knowledge! Much appreciated!

I have begun to pick up on that as well. It's almost as if someone sat down and said, "OK... if I were going to build Oblivion, I'd start w/ OOO's stats/behaviors and go from there." Maybe that's an overly simplistic view, but it helps me to see the bigger picture that is FCOM.

Man, what a slow monday... can't wait to get home and get settled back in!

Good evening... well, I think the above mentioned mod has fixed my grinding issues. At least, I'm pretty sure. I went to try and grind a copper nugget in my INV (no, not the same one... interestingly enough I happened upon another during testing and troubleshooting). I clicked on it and.... no CTD! Yay! I got a menu! yay! I had no Mortar and Pestle! boo! Stupid me. But hey, I got the nice menu saying, "idiot, what are you going to do? grind it in your fingers?"... well, it doesn't say that exactly, but it probably should!

Anyway, I think it's working.... I went to get a M&P from my place in Frostcrag... got a teleport spell to get there, so it'll be a fast test, right? Ummm, no, not so much. Hit the teleport spell, arrive at Frostcrag, and at he end of the spell animation the screen freezes solid. :banghead:

So that problem is back. Looked closer at my load order... sure enough, I am running Supreme Magicka and Deadly Reflex, and I did not have SM_Deadly Reflex loading after Deadly Reflex - Combat Moves. So I just pushed that down so the last few items before my bashed patch are DR, then SM_DR (merged), then bashed patch. I think that's right now, at least.

If I get into problems w/ Deadly Reflex and/or Supreme Magicka, I guess I'll need to post in those threads? There is no "official" open FCOM thread now, is there?

*** UPDATE ***
Moving SM_DeadlyReflex to the right place did not fix the screen freeze. Might be a conflict w/ SM and KCAS skill raising now? Jeez... how did I end up in this maze? lol!

Corepc's UFCOM thread is as official as you're going to get right now. All the currently active FCOM team members post in there on a regular basis, and Corepc himself is monitoring the integration between FCOM and MMM at the moment.

OK, thank you. I'll be headed there momentarily as I appear to have once again rendered my build unplayable. I don't know how or why yet, but now I'm back to not being able to cast any spells... screen totally freezes up. I haven't changed what fixed it before, so it's either something I inadvertently changed, or something new altogether.

But I digress. This is no longer about G&GD, I am 99% sure of that!

I wonder if there is some way to do that. That would be the second most important list for all overhaul users, after the load list. (Ignore everything beyond the first question, vegtabill.)

I'll post a new thread shortly, but in the meantime, would the output from a bashed patch rebuild be anywhere close to what you're looking for? Here's mine from the one I just did. It seems to show the load order plus the options I selected. Would that work?

I have seen it many times, and I do not know where people get that thing from. Posting with Wrye Bash should simply be right-click on the "File" tab, choose "List mods" and paste here (in spoiler tags if your LO is long). This is why I said ignore the rest of my post. I did not want you posting the ReadMe. It is too long and not so helpful that it needs to take that much time through your load order (unless specially requested.) I should have simply edited that extra comment out of that post. Please excuse me for confusing you. This is my fault...

Edit: got too frustrated to finish, hold before you make that new thread, lets correct this first...still working...

Remove MMM-Cobl. It does not fit into FCOM well yet.
VaultsofCyrodiil.esp is REPLACED by BC's Vaults of Cyrodiil plugin. (I have seen this installation error so many time I want to go yell at the BC team...not really, but c'mon...)
Isn't Harvest Flora DLCFrostcrag mergeable?
• 89 Salmo The Baker v2.0.esp [Version 2.06] is replaced by the COBL version. Completely uninstall this mod, not just the plugin. It is fully incorporated into COBL. (Leave the COBL Salmo plugin.)


It looks like the ReadMe may have helped this time. I would still rather read a more compact version. Thank you for cutting out the LLs. Try unchecking OOO in import scripts.

That did come from Wrye Bash. When you rebuild the patch, you get a results screen formatted w/ HTML. This is that result screen minus the Leveled List info. I realize the standard way of getting the patch is more condensed, but I thought this might answer your question as to whether or not we can post the bashed patch selections. If you look down past the load order, I think what you're looking for is there. Just a suggestion, that's all.

gotcha... no problem. I mean you said to ignore it, but I thought I had an answer. I should have listened to you! No big deal, really.

I just finished applying the changes you recommended, and am rebuilding the patch now. We'll see how it goes! In any event these are all improvements. The one exception is Harvest Flora DLCFrostcrag. I am running Frostcrag Reborn and... well crap... better look at the readme(s)... what I was going to say is that ESP is not tagged mergeable now, but I'd better check and make sure I didn't miss something saying to make it mergeable. I'll do that momentarily.

I do not recommend ignoring my suggestions to ignore in the future, however...yeah...

I was wondering if you were using Frostcrag because that would be the only reason for the one plugin I thought knew was mergeable not to be...that Frostcrag Reborn mod...enjoy it.

Yeah, I am. It's a fantastic mod. Will be some time before my character is anywhere near ready to try going down to it's lower levels. But man, is it worth it once you do get down there!

Unfortunately though, after rebuilding my patch with the changes made, I still can't cast any spells. Locks the screen. So I guess I'll be making a new post after all?

You know, it shouldn't be too bad to write a little Java program that could parse the readme generated from rebuilding the patch. If it could do that, it could conceivably build the data into objects with as many ways to look at them as needed. Just another thought before I wave the white flag for the night... you've bested me again, Oblivion, but there's always tomorrow...

Well, I posted over in the Supreme Magicka thread to see if anyone had any suggestions. Strategy Master seems pretty sure it's a problem with Deadly Reflex and that there is a fix for it, but didn't know where it was and suggested the DR thread. I went looking for a Deadly Reflex thread, but there doesn't seem to be (an open) one? Not sure what my next step should be. Maybe make a new post altogether w/ Deadly Reflex in the subject?
