Hey folks, just signed up. Im a massive fan of the Elder Scrolls so decided to join the community and get really hyped with all of you over the next few months.

Anyway I did a quick search about gender but could only find stuff regarding NPCs so apologies if its been asked, or if there too little information just yet. This is almost a deal breaker for me and my massive question is:


Can I play Skyrim as a female character?


Simple but rather important as my past heroes have all been female and I want to carry this on. Seeing the hero in the trailer do that shouts was impressive. I just really hope their is a great female Voice Actor who can do it for my female saviour in Skyrim.

Additionally my lore knowledge is a bit rusty so im sure someone can fill me in. The Dragonborn are the Septim Dynasty right? They have the Dragon Blood in them which stopped the Gates of Oblivion ect. This leads me to believe that this may restrict the number of race choices in Character Creator? Or can Dragon Blood flow through other races aside from human Characters such as the Septims?

Male/Female
Nord, Breton, Redguard, Orc, Argonian, Kahjiit, Bosmer, Dunmer, Altmer, Imperial

As far as i know. yep. you can even be a lioness, or a giant she-lizard...

Bosmer = Wood Elf
Dunmer = Dark Elf
Altmer = High Elf

Thanks folks, I was reading a few press releases but couldn't find anything. Thanks for clearing it all up. I couldn't see any reason why not, but just wanted some clarification from people who will know a bit more. Im guessing then theres some sort of in game chat about how Dragon Blood flows through you. Most likely plot related. Sounds fun.

Im looking forward to playing with my red eyed Dunmer again.
