Depths of Fort Hawkstar is always recruiting! I refuse to let it die, even if it already did!
I'll drink to that sentiment.
Unfortunately, I cannot join myself, but I have been following it a bit, and it does look interesting.
If we are advertising RPs here, I suppose I should mention the Gray Bloods Company. We've hit a bit of a speed bump recently, but we're opening up the sign up again for the second portion of the introduction RP. Eventually, we plan on making a guild-like RP series, where we engage in multiple, smaller RPs one after another. That way there's no gradual drop off or loss of interest (both of which can be observed in the prototype we've already tried
). We've learned from the mistakes in the first one, however, and I promise as GM I won't let the same thing happen again. This time when I say quick RP, I mean a quick RP.
With that shameless plug out of the way, I'd like to say that a general RP discussion should be a bit more than brainstorming and advertising. Does anyone have any actual thoughts on RPing in general? I know I've got a few things I'd care to talk about, like the tips and tricks to keep an RPing exciting, or how exclusive a GM should be in allowing players to join their RP.
Also, I'm not sure having so many RPs in one community at a single time is the best idea. Not to bash the free market of RPing, but a little bit of discussion might be good before anyone starts up another new one. The new RPs usually end up stealing interest and players from the established ones, causing them to falter, and then those new ones in turn suffer from the same problem later. Giving people warning ahead of time might be a good idea, so GMs can get an idea of who they can expect to continue in their own story. Just a thought.
