German Cover Story

Post » Sat Dec 25, 2010 12:06 pm

Washington, as in Washington, D.C. Rockville, MD, where Bethesda is based, is a suburb of D.C. I'm not sure why they are called Bethesda (another suburb) if they are based in Rockville, but such is the way of the world.

I guess that clear things up a bit.

What do you mean?

Well, how can I explain that in terms others might understand ...
It's like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sun_%28United_Kingdom%29 for games. In fact, the whole http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axel_Springer_AG is an evil moloch actively working on the stultification of the people.

I thought there was a mag on the 10th? Also, does gamereactor usually have good coverage? Is it a credible mag?

It's the best magazine in Norway, but we don't have many gaming magazines though

I think we'll get some good stuff from them

I rather liked it, myself.
Just checking your skills gives you a beautiful view of the sky with constellations and stars to match how your character has progressed.

If they went to washington then they didn't see anything because the BGS studio is in maryland.

Look at the cover again. It says "Washington" at the bottom in reference to where they went to play it.
Why? Don't ask me.

Yea that's bizarre though. BGS is in maryland? If they couldn't even get that right then I'm worried about the credibility of this article.

Yes, as in Washington, D.C. Rockville is not really a suburb of D.C. though, it's a city in its own right with a population of like 60,000 people and also serves as the seat of Montgomery County. It also has a municipal government complete with a mayor. Bethesda is also not really a suburb either, it also has a population of like 60,000 people. The Naval Hospital is in Bethesda, too actually. The president gets his physical there. Anyways, Bethesda is called Bethesda because they were originally based in Bethesda. They moved to Rockville but just kept their name.

Well, shooter is a given. It says "Ingenious mix between shooter & roleplay".
I wouldn't get too hyped about such a statement, though. We already know that combat has been improved to be more action-oriented, and the magazine isn't too specific about genres.

Maybe to some it doesn't bother them. It does bother me because the only description of TES should be RPG. Adding anything else is disappointing.

Fair enough. I grew up in super rural Western MD, so to us anything that looked like a big city was either part of Washington or part of Baltimore. :)

What do you mean?

It's not exactly the best magazine out. Best-selling only because of free full (and pretty recent) games and the big name of Germany's best-selling tabloid behind it. Would have rather seen it handed to GameStar, personally, they are still the best in German game journalism, though the magazine itself is bothered by really strange layout changes lately...

I'm not expecting too much out of this six page article. The gi one is more than double that so how much info could we possibly get? We've already had a 14 page go article, a month full of online hub updates AND a skyrim feature in an italian, french and spanish magazines...
