What size is the laptop screen? If it's below 22'', then get the Mouse and head set... the 1GB won't make the slightest difference.

Alienware only uses native displays (eg. 1680 x 1050 on 22") so we only need the screen size :P also, why would you want a huge priced brand name laptop (yes brand name, they are owned by Dell)? You could just as easily get a better one for less at ibuypowerpc.com etc. lol

Because people think it's cool case means that the rest will be awsome as well - which its not. Alienware is severely overpriced and all you get out of it is a cool brand name case. You are better off shopping at a different company website.

Exactly. And you can get the mouse and head set as well.

The fact that you posted this in General forum and wrote 2/3 of the post in caps forces me to do a tripplefacepalm.

.......
2/3 of the post in caps
the reason i put that in caps is so people would pay attention to it because last time i made a thread people posted the same things over and over and it already said in the thread subject i couldnt do what they were suggesting
this required me to do a face palm of indefinite proportion
what forum would you suggest i put this in then?

WRITING IN CAPS MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE A COMPLETE RETARD!

I'd suggest to get the mouse and headset, because 512MB doesn't make any difference really.

And there is a section called "Off Topic" suitable for this kinds of discussions.

There's no need for caps, there's also no need for name calling :)

I'd also suggest not bothering with the 1GB card over the 512 as it won't make a viable difference on that setup.

why did you just write in caps then.......

ok no caps from now on

and one more thing general forum means for generally anything to do with Crysis and as in one of my earlier threads i was taking about the spec of my new laptop in relation to Crysis and where the spec would run it at a decent level of quality this is a continuation of that thread as I am wondering what would improve my game play experience more the mouse and headset or the better Graphics card although I should probably of stated that in the subject

alienware? youre getting that notebook from alienware? if yes then neither: buy from a different company, and you'll be able to afford a headset, mouse and better graphics card.
p.s. 1 gig is strongly recommended.

No! Don't get 1GB.... why on earth would you need it for a laptop resolution? Unless it's 2560 x 1600, get the 512MB because it will handle crysis 2 on highest (I bet) when it comes out, at least 1920 x 1080.

Well, knowing computers quite well, it depends on what kind of quality you like. Pushing the settings to say for example "high" requires more memory usage by the GPU to maintain a good FPS. I recommend just getting a desktop if you really want to play the game because the desktops do not require as much customization and packing as does a desktop.

Agreed. I think that 512MB of Video Card RAM should be plenty to have Crysis 2 run well. However if you can spare the money, 1GB will certainly help it run better, but its not needed at lower resolutions.

512 mb GPU is enough for that gpu, go for mouse and headset.
Nevertheless it is way too expensive and overpriced laptop and brand.
