So we get no official Gamescom gameplay footage release?

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 6:59 am

Such a shame if Bethesda doesn't release this before launch. The Fallout 4 E3 reveal was great, though nothing will ever top Todd Howard's Skyrim Quakecon reveal. That was a delightful crowd cheering for practically every move Todd made in the game, lol.

That's how Bethesda seems to be doing things now. They reveal the game 5 months in advance, and all they've shown us since then is a series of cartoon vignettes and 14 seconds of gameplay.

At least today we got a few pages from the art book of stuff that might not even be in the game and is in no way reflective of the final product...

...thanks Bethesda marketing team.

Other than the SPECIAL vids being a nice delight, it's pretty wack what they're doing with the constant secrecy regarding the Gamescom footage. I'd honestly would rather see that over a 14 seconds perk teaser vid. I hope TES VI follows Skyrim's reveal protocol over Fallout 4's.

I have no problems with the art book preview. I didn't really need the preview because I love art books and it was an instant purchase for me... but it was still nice.

But there's been a lot of discussion about when/if Bethesda will release the Quakecon/Gamescom footage already. It hasn't been confirmed that this footage isn't being released, has it? So there's nothing really new here to talk about that isn't already discussed in other threads. I'm still believing that they will release it prior to launch. They still have time.

There's still time, don't lose hope just yet. And if not, we've got 13 days.

Oh gawd, we've got 13 days!

I'm with you. There's still two weeks time, and if not the game will be out before we know it. The only thing Bethesda said regarding the release of the footage was something along the lines of "stay tuned and find out."

Oh well. Maybe next week they'll show us a 5 second clip of a radroach skittering on the ground.

Daylight Savings Time ends this weekend, so you have to add an hour to account for setting the clocks back. ;)

If that's true then I need to be on standby with the 'Start New Topic' page lol!!

EDIT: I actually think the footage will be released on Tuesday, exactly one week before launch...

Revealing too much info, leaves less to look forward too. I remember Bloodborne had lots of info. Almost 48 hours after release, the entire community knew exactly what to do by searching. It was like that with Dark Souls.

I don't really see it as being that big of a deal. The leaked footage just we saw was just a couple encounters and walking around. Nothing earth shattering. They also mentions, when asked about repair/maintain mechanics, that "we aren't ready to talk about that yet" so more info could come. Honestly I've already 10/10 excited. Anything else is nice, but not needed

I find it funny that the same people who were praising Bethesda for their discrete marketing strategy, are now whining Bethesda hasn't shown enough of the game.

This is going to be my name for dogmeat.

My problem with how they are doing it now, is because i know enough from fallout 3\ new vegas to see how the game goes, and eveolved from there. to someone new? he may not even have enough info to know what to expect. they need more gameplay footage.

To complete newcomers: Do they know...

can i loot the gear enemies drop, or just drops from random lot tables after the enemy is felled?

items on table: are they just collectibles from crafting or do they have other uses?

if this game free roam or just a series of open levels?

Can i talk to everyone or just select story characters?

I know a lot of these answers (and by Knowing, I mean assuming) because i played Skyrim and fallout 3, I know how this team operates. the PALTRY ammount of gameplay footage shown here isn't indicative of what the game it,just what's new. they need more footage shown to catch the interest of those who were blown away by the Witcher 3 because you could walk from one corner of the map to another.

Honestly in this day and age, that's not really much of a problem, as anyone curious can just find info or ask people on the net and pretty much become as knowledgeable as long term fans.

I have no doubt that you will be first to post the link, hence the reason I refreshed Youtube, Bethesda.net, and Falllout4.com, and this forum every 5 minutes today looking for new info.

LOL! I had to go back and look at my post to see if I did that. Yup, I did. I'm leaving it like that, and you're welcome!
