I have the five containers (Cobalt, Gallium, Gold etc.) from the Cambridge Polymer Labs quest still in my inventory and I can't remove them despite having finished the quest. How do I get rid of them?

Maybe store them away in Sanctuary, I think I got rid of them I will have to check that.

Yeah I'm really not looking to put my Silver Shroud costume back on any time soon but I can't get rid of it.

I have the same problem. Every time I try to remove them by dropping them into a Workbench or something, I'm told I can't remove quest items from my inventory. I'm starting a new character, and now that I know what the stuff I need looks like, I'm only going to pick up those two, then leave them in the machine when I'm done when I do the quest on my new character.

I can't get them out of the inventory, like, at all.
