The Pre-War American Government was not the Enclave! Only some where. They were not all card carrying members of the Enclave. When will people get this? The pre-war government split up and went everywhere else. President and Enclave went to the Rig. The Virus would have killed anyone even in bunkers, "every nuck and cranny on the planet."

FO3 tells us Raven Rock was empty till Rig went Boom.

If they Enclave have huge bases like the Rig and Raven Rock all over the planet why have then not taken over the world yet? What were they doing for a 150 years or so till the time of FO2? All theses bases, space weapons and troops all over the world and yet nothing. This would mean they were only at the Rig.

Also the part about the Pre-war Government taking off around the world does not make much sense. One America closed its boarders to everyone. Two, the great war lasted two hours so how the hell are you going to get across the oceans in two hours?

Prepared for a nuclear or biological attack from China, the President and the Enclave retreats to remote sections around the globe and make contingency plans for continuing the war [14] .

Sure sounds like that quote means the enclave spread out globally. That was 7 months before the bombs, not two hours.

I never said enclave was the entire government, so I have nothing to get.

Throwing all your chips in on one plan is stoo-pid. You are even suggesting rig is pre-war plan. Well what if bomb hits rig? There goes your one and only plan...that is why they spread out.

Who knows how big their bases are. I have never given any specifics, because I do not know. What I can deduce from common sense, is that they spread out, and that there is no way they all could have got to rig, for many, many reasons.

As far as what they been up to, who knows, which is why I want to find out. Just like I want to see what happens with BoS.

What is the war [14] foot noting? What source does it come from?

Enclave have done nothing up till the time of FO2. The Virus they had would have killed every one in the world not on the rig. World was nuked to hell chances are if there were other bases, which again makes no sense because every nation on earth hated America so why would they let America build bases but if there were chances are they to are gone. Enclave did have a plan b which was Raven Rock. Which also makes no sense for why did the Enclave not take advantage of the Rock and its limitless resources and space weapons? Also Optimus Prime was in DC and I am sure Enclave would have known about it. So from 2077 to the time of FO2, why have they not already taken back America, with the wonder weapons of DC and the Rig?

Enclave have been the nuclear whipping boy three times now. How many times do we need to beat that dead horse?

It from fo timeline taken from fo bible. It on the wiki. War is war with China.

Who frigging knows what enclave done. There been two major game settings, west coast and east coast. Who knows where or what types of bases enclave had, because we haven't explored them. Plan b is an empty base with a computer?

DC also heavily hit with nuclear weapons. Even if enclave did know about robot, not like they could walk in there two days after bombs dropped and take him over. People who also knew about him could have been killed during or after war.

This not a debate of who major factions should be. It that certain factions are interesting and add to the story. Shadow governments are interesting, and I wanna know what they are up to, same with BoS.

I remember past debates on the forums. People would say things like "You old school guys just don't want change and your'e stuck in the past." Now after reading many threads about the Enclave and BoS it seems that alot of us "elitist" are the ones wanting something new. While those new to fallout seem to only want Enclave and BoS. The "elitist" site lore/canon and simple logic and yet people still want are the Enclave and BoS. Seems to me many new people are the ones that don't want change and are stuck in the past. While the "elitist" are asking for change. I don't know if thats irony or not but it sure is something

DC was hit heavily with nuclear weapons? Thats an odd thing to say when many of its buildings are still there and in pretty good shape. Yet LA's buildings are nothing but burned out looted shells (the ones left standing that is).

A 150 to 200 years of nothing pretty much means they are gone. Yes plan B was Raven Rock. It was a fall back bunker for the Rig. Again makes no sense for they could have taken back america from bothsides long before the events of FO2.

Fallout Bible gives some hope for Enclave but its not fully canon and the games themselves have shown Enclave are dead as a powerful faction.

I like the Enclave, I don't hate them. I just feel they should not come back as powerful as they were in FO2 and defenetly not as powerful as they were in FO3. I like them as people that work in the shadows. I would like to see them back as remnants but they wormed their way into a like minded group like the MWBoS. They give up their goals to kill everything not enclave and insted go with "if we can't kill them, might as well control them."

DC is pretty small compared with LA. Wouldn't take much to make the area extremely dangerous to walk into days after the bombs. We have no idea how big they are or where they had locations. As far as in game goes, 3 games out west, one east. It big country, so we have no idea what going on in other places, and it fact from in game, that they have more than one outpost in Chicago, and there many things we just don't know.

For example, makes zero sense to send Ed-E west, cuz the enclave sure knows the rig destroyed...so why do it? Unless they know something we don't. That is what makes games like this fun, the possibilities are endless.

It obvious both enclave and west coast bos are in bad shape. What happens next is just speculation, and will be fun playing out and putting all the pieces together. For all we know, calculator and enclave in cahoots.

This is main reason I want next game in midwest, so can start piecing puzzle together, and hopefully have enclave as faction who does not attack on site, regardless what size they are. Same with wanting to know what BoS up to. Hopefully veronica and other like minded bos move east to meet up with bos who know have had to adapt to survive

I agree, I think there is enough enclave around that they still pose a threat, and that there is more of them around besides a major base in Chicago, besides, the Legion only control Arizona, New Mexico, and most of Colorado and Utah, easy to get around if you go to the north.

Holy crap, the Enclave weren't even going to APPEAR in Van Buren. That should tell you about how Black Isle Studios intended to use the Enclave. They were just a one. time. use. enemy. But nooooo, Interplay being the idiots they were and still are went and cut it off. Then Bethesda came along and bought it out under for Troika and Bioware, and being the proverbial monkey behind the typewriter decided that putting the Enclave, BoS, and Super Mutants 2000 miles away with little to no explanation as to exactly how the hell they got there thinking that it would be a good fanservice. :endrant:

Took BoS roughly a year to get to DC, and at the time Legion had just formed or took over their first city. Lot of ways they could have gone to avoid Legion.

As far as Enclave, they sure included a lot of Enclave lore relating to Van Buren in the FO timeline, and created interesting lore in general for them to be considered a one time enemy. Hopefully though, they are not an enemy if they appear in future games and can be treated like all of the factions in FONV.

Ok, i know i will more than likely get a dozen quotes for this, but it has to be said. Does every Fallout game need to be on the West Coast? Does have a reasonable explanation as to why things happen all the time? No and no. Now i know it does not satisfy everyone that all the questions are not answered, but that is what makes a mystery that much more interesting. I think it made the Enclave that much more dangerous and interesting that they were on the East Coast as well, a good fall back point for some of the West coast people to get to( and it was explained as well for example by the Narvarro soldier who deserted and lived in Greyditch, and by Col. Autumn's family) and the West Coast Brotherhood sending some people Eastward to get Technology as well, resulting in the East Coast Brotherhood, and Sadly, the Outcasts. Even Harold was explained as well imho real well. Furthernore we need to see more of the United States than California, Oregon, and Nevada, and i think Fallout 3 did an Excellent job of doing a wasteland for Maryland and Virginia. There were faults, but each game had it's faults, and each game was the best one out there when they were released as well. None of us are perfect, but remember to give the people who made these games credit, and just have fun with them, they are just games.

I agree with you. There is a lot to explore. Mystery is def what makes the enclave interesting to me, and I'm glad to see at least some people in BoS have realized what it will take for survival. I don't need them to be major players, but I want to see them in game to see what they up to. I thought it was well played what they did with Ed-E, gave just enough to speculate on.

I'm not new to fallout, and I like playing with both enclave and bos, and I want to know more about them.

I don't have problems with new factions. That is what keeps things fresh, but I don't believe in just killing off a faction on a whim.

I also don't believe a faction like bos is fanfare. They major players in one game. So, that would mean all factions are now overplayed and fanfare. Yawn. Keep asking for new stuff just for the sake of something new and you end up with ewoks.

Killing off on a whim? major players? what?

For being "major players" them having to be totally optional to even meet since game 1,seems to contradict your theory. Kicking the enclave in the nuts 3 times isn't enough? How many secret bases and unlimited personal do you want them to have. Given that in FO2 the PRESIDENT didn't even have Raven Rock listed on his Enclave communication terminal to me really means that gamesas made big boo boo putting them in again in the first place. With a military organization like the Enclave don't yo uthink the leadership would have a listing of all there assets?

Enclave don't let in Outsiders. Are you sure you arn't thinking of the MWBoS?

Also as much as I hate to say it the Fallout Bible is not fully canon. The main games pretty much tell us the Enclave are gone.

I finally found that Quote evlbastrd and others keep bringing up about the Enclave and the president ■"Prepared for a nuclear or biological attack from China, the President and the Enclave retreats to remote sections around the globe and make contingency plans for continuing the war." That is from Van Buren and therefore not CANON. " Facepalm my mistake :sadvaultboy:

Still I am right about the Fallout Bible/timeline not fully canon.

I said BoS was major players in only one game. I didn't know they were totally optional in fo3, maybe you can let me know how you win without going to the citadel.

For a shadow government, yeah, I think many things would be secret, even among leadership. That is how those secret organizations roll. Also, I would wager the majority of communications destroyed. There was a nuclear war that took place after all. As farr as Eden contacting Enclave, I would have to assume he did have a working method of communication, but if all Enclave had perfect communication, I would be pretty surprised, cuz well, there was a nuclear war.

For an organization that spread out globally 7 months prior to the war, I would imagine they are still around, in places we have yet explored. I don't need bos or enclave to be major factions, but I like having them around because it adds depth and mystery to the story.

Seeing how as you pointed out, BoS can be avoided, except in fo3, I fail to see the reasoning that they are overplayed. By that logic, NCR, Legion, House, well, everything, in the FO universe is overplayed.

Oh and yeah, I don't expect organizations to have a list of all their assets, laying around on a desk or in a computer, so someone can look at it and then know all about said secret group. Doh. You may also have to assume that the enclave were using pres as a puppet, who knows.

Sooo, again, they don't have to be a major faction, but I would at least like them to have some presence to further their story.

Bull. It does not say in timeline that is van buren, which for every other item on the timeline it specifically states if it van buren or not.

Oh and main games. Well I think a game called Fallout New Vegas came out a bit ago and there is a eyebot with a recorded message that says if this is picked up by one of our enclave outposts in chicago, please send on way to navarro, cuz it has important info.

Yeah I was gonna tell ya all items footnoted with 14 are from fo bible 0 written by C.A.

Look, lol, both bos and enclave are fun, and it would be cool to advance their stories and learn more about them. If enclave was a faction like the bos is in fonv, I would be pleased to finally do some enclave quests. And who knows, maybe they learn need to recruit for survival, like the east bos and mwbos figured out, and veronica figured out.

My biggest problem is having them back as a large powerful faction. Advancing their story by coming across remnants that are small groups no longer bent on killing everything but still hate everyone would be ok. Coming across old abandoned bunkers or finding secret records from pre-war times would be great. Just a not another "evil" faction we need to destroy. If they do come back as they are in FO3 I want a Super Sledgehammer called "Whac-A-Mole." Made by the Brotherhood for the task of busting open advanced power armour.
