Get rid the BoS for ONE game. PLEASE.

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:06 pm

I know this might be 'blasphemy' to some forum regs, but honestly, I'm getting sick of the damned Brotherhood of Steel.

California
Nevada
Illinois
Texas
D.C.

EVERYWHERE WE GO WE RUN INTO THEM. I understand the BoS is at this point a Fan boy addition faction, but for the love of god, the BoS pop up everywhere like radroaches, I mean, if you want to add power armor in the game, make so we find it in a derilect pre-war USAF base or something. But it's getting annoying for me that everywhere we go, the BoS 'conveniently' has come there before us.

Anyway, I just had to express this opinion. Outside opinions are welcome and encouraged.

Well, there's still 45 states that aren't mentioned so the odds are in your favor :)

Yes, let's get rid of vaults too. And the Enclave. And the NCR. And the Legion. And House. Who needs 'em?

Raiders for the win.

I just like shooting them in the head from a distance. A bullet, a scope, a raider head in my cross-hairs.

The rest is just supurflous.

What? The Enclave was the Pre-War government, it's expected they'd be based around the United States. Vaults were built all over too. House, NCR, and Legion are strictly in the West.

The BoS is an organization of technology fiends that are more xenophobic than Japan. I mean, how in the hell do they have the forces to be all over? Tactics and F3 explain this by saying these two splinter factions recruit outsiders. But in the BoS in general should largely be crippled.

they have different chapters in various areas around the United States, that being said the BoS has been around since the first fallout installment. and the series goes on with them.

I'd love for a game without any BOS in them, be it former members, current members, fractured members, changed members.
They've always been there, which is pissing me off.
Can there be a game without "any" space marines? Maybe have a power armor hidden away somewhere but please... No more space marines...
It's getting old.

Sounds good to me. And I'm a person who actually likes the West Coast Brotherhood.

I think the Mojave and the Southwest should've been about the limit of where you're going to see a Brotherhood presence. Too bad Tactics and Fallout 3 ruined that. Now they basically span the continent. :sadvaultboy:

Agreed. In Fallout 2 the BoS was in decline, as is explained by BoS member Matt (I think that was his name) in San Francisco during Fallout 2. He even gets killed by Horrigan in that game, implying that the Enclave was trying to get rid of the competition. How the hell they shaped up and started expanding, I haven't got a clue.

If they have to bring them to the next installment, let them be a xenophobic small faction that's reluctant to help the player in whatever quest he/she is set out to do. We can have several workaround systems to acquire Power Armor. An abandoned Military Base or BoS outpost, or one that was destroyed by whatever strong, nasty faction they would want to put in the game.

Ah yes. If they ever come back, I want them to be atleast total jerks towards the player. Like sending him off to a suicide mission to get rid of him. Their "jerk quest" svcked ass in NV.

The Brotherhood Rules! Exactly why don't you like the BOS? It makes little sense that you hate them for being everywhere. Now the NCR is everywhere actually (the west coast at-least) but the BOS is in little numbers but spread out more.

Yes, they should dissapear, the Enclave too to a lesser extent, they are only remnants, we need new factions and stop oversusing the same ones over and over again

Mr House hates them too!!!

Because....

Because it's the equivalent of......I dunno, something thats a huge cashcow of a series, and everyone thinks it's SO amazing. It's just frustrating after a while.

@ Dario- I think you just said my problem for me. It's over used. Never has there been a Fallout game without the BoS, it's getting ridiculous.

Blasphemy! BoS where never in Texas :shifty: Would be nice if we could avoid them all together in the next game like we can in FO1 and FO2. New Vegas still has "we need to deal with them." For all but Yes Man. I can't help but think why? They have been in their hidey-hole for years.

I agree BoS don't need to be in every game.

Elder Lyons is an astute and dangerous leader that has eliminated the political competition in his area. Think about it.

Remember what Doctor Li said: don't trust the Brotherhood. Don't believe what they say. :) There is no human power left in the Capital Wastelands save for BoS. The Enclave has been annihilated there, and the other factions are just too small to be able to be a threat. And the Brotherhood lives in Pentagon, and has the Pentagon archives, and they're not too far from places like Norfolk, Virginia. The outcasts are nobodies in comparison, and will be wiped out if they become a problem.

Also remember that the DC BoS razed Pitt to the ground, Annihilated it. I think there's more to DC BoS than we see in the game, and I'm kind of curious where Bethesda/Obsidian will take them.

Which is why I hope FO4 takes place on the east coast.

So no, I think the BoS is here to stay, and I don't rightly mind.

I don't mind the Brotherhood if the game is set in a location that isn't in California or Nevada. Otherwise, I really don't want them being written into an area for the sake of fan service.

The Brotherhood are like a [censored] plague where ever you go, how many people do they have, they don't recruit and they're the decendants of the soldiers and families from Mariposa, even in 200 years how many could there possibly be?
