I love gambling. I hated it my first playthrough and ignored in on the second. On the third I put allot of points into luck and now I am banned from all of the casinos haha. I haven't picked up Caravan yet. I think that is my next game. I really haven't taken the time to figure it out.

WRK is a finite resource. Fiends, on the other hand, are renewable, and provide a just about infinite source of Varmint rifles, Cowboy Repeaters, Brass Knuckles, Pool Cues, Laser rifles and RCWs. Powder Ganger camps are a good source of handguns for repairing Sawn-Off Shotguns, .44 Magnums and the like.

You can often milk a shop for all its money right there, on the spot, using the very stuff it sells to you. Any place that sells a Sawn-Off Shotgun in semi-broken confition and a couple of lower-end pistols is giving you caps for free.

I can make a 'weapon repair kit' with 50 repair and very common items. It is not especially finite. You can easily acquire the components while doing your normal play. Duct tape, scrap electronics, wonderglue, scrap metal and wrenches are everywhere. You just need to know what to grab. Once you have jury rigging you have license to print money.

Fiends etc are certainly a resource but they need you so spend ammo, time and supplies. One must count all costs.

Someone doesn't understand how currency works. In Fallout 3 you have a hard time making tons of money, but everything was cheaper. I never once ran short on caps to buy whatever I wanted in Fallout 3 (largely because there was nothing worth buying). In New Vegas getting every implant is difficult unless you're level 15+ or have high luck to cheat the casinos.

Ummm....what are you talking about? In fallout 3 it was impossible to get hardly any money. You couldn't go carrying around 750 pounds of stuff and then go and see it all at gun runners. The only extra stuff in new vegas was the stupid ammo thing that I never used. I would get a lot of stuff in F3 and sell it but then run out because of repairing because the repairing system is actually tough to do in that game. Plus Fallout 3 is a way better game!

Here are my tips 4 Caravan
The 10, 6 and Kings Deck

First get quite a few Kings, 10s and 6s from vendors and Prospectors and have in all three of your decks a 10 and a 6 just place a king on all of the 10s.

I love scavenging for items and bringing them up to New Vegas to sell. I usually blow all my caps (RP reasons and whatnot) on gambling with a two luck SPECIAL.

Well weapons always seem the most valuable loot.

10mm pistols early on are like gold, then 10mm SMGs and laser RCW's which pay off real well for their weight to sell value ratio. Hunting rifles are a good money maker too.

Blackjack with a moderately high luck skill and access to the Strip=Huge profits. In a couple hours or less, you can clear out all the casino's

Lol its sooooo easy to make money in FNV it isnt even funny!!

Hell i could sit on my ass and still make a load of caps doing nothing.

At least in F3 it was actually hard to get even 25k.

That's because the values of caps are different. A 10mm pistol in Fallout 3 costed 10 caps, in New Vegas it costs 104,954.

Sneak killing all the Veteran Rangers at Camp Golf and selling all their gear. I would do this with the Brotherhood aswell, but I am unable to sneak kill them without them all going hostile for some reason.

You bastard, we will find you. And when we do..... :gun:

Basically what I did in Fallout 3 for some quick cash is to wander around the Wasteland and finding the selling certain junk, armor, guns in perfect condition that I don't need etc. I run Barter Town.

Another idea just occured to me in how to make caps in the Fallout universe....become a caravan merchant!

I think it would be awesome if you could set up shop as well, or perhaps purchase a shop from an owner, who will manage it for you if you'd like, and then you come pick up the caps every so often. He could give you a list of things your shop needs, and you could go get them....or have it to where people will interact with you from time to time, and want to see what you have for sale (kinda like the way that random Kings gang member in Freeside runs up to you and hands you stuff). The catch is, you'd only be 'open' for business if you wore a certain hat or a certain outfit, and depending on your reputation, it would depend on what prices you could ask for when selling things. Barter and Charisma would definitely help in swaying customers to pay more too! Just an idea....!

Unfortunately, some WRK components- especially the Duct Tape- are not common enough. From my observation, you can find enough components for about 120 to 150 WRKs over the course of the game. You need to burn 3-4 of them to repair one weapon from near-broken to perfect. If you do it a lot, you'll burn through your WRKs quickly- and don't forget that for some weapons (missile launchers, miniguns, etc.) WRK is the only cost-effective way of repair.

Fiends etc are certainly a resource but they need you so spend ammo, time and supplies. One must count all costs.

The expense of hunting Fiends in terms of ammo and supplies is negligible. Ratslayer with 5.56 HP ammo and a Lever-Action Shotgun for backup does the job just fine. All the supplies you need you find on the Fiends themselves. And let's face it, time spent hunting Fiends is time well spent :) And you get tons of good karma as a bonus.

My 200K by about level 12 would disagree with you there.....you can carry 8000 lbs of stuff if you wanted too. Hell the last 120 or so hours of my FO3 pay time before I gave up playing it was me running around with 6 companions hitting every spawn point on the map with MMM increased increased spawns looting it all and them selling it all.

FO3 was the only Fallout game where I broke 2 million caps. I didn't even have any of the DLC's either.

Ya...I doubt that happened...And there is no way you could have had all the companions and it isn't possible to hold 8000 pounds of stuff even with all the companions. That would only be around 2000 plus they all cant carry stuff anyway. But that was a good try.....

Yah really hes just bashing Fallout 3. Plus the only way he could have gotton that stuff was to use a mod. Which does not count.

It's still not really that hard, if you want money it can be farmed from Talon Co. encounters and the titanic number of Enclave scattered everywhere; weapons and such in F3 is about x5 less than Vegas but also means that everything sells for x5 less as well, when comparing making money simply through farming and selling equipment it should be equal for both games.

Well considering everything is worth less so it does make up for it kinda. But yet everything in FNV isnt really that expensive. The fact its sooo easy to make money in FNV is what sets them apart.

Dude, who cares what you can do with mods? You could change a tin can to be worth 10 million caps, doesn't make it a valid strategy.

No it's easy Get the game for the PC, get mods put in MMM increased increased spawns so when you get spawns of 2-4 enemies you see spawns of 8-20 enemies. Try carrin' every suit of PA from Raven rock along with weapons and misc stuff before you blow it up and see if you can carry 8000 lbs of stuff. XD You slow walk but you can do it.

you think it hard to get 200K without mods in FO3? just farm spawn points easily done.

@peter, I broke 200K without mods easily I never used mods that changed prices. I earned my 2 million caps from just grinding spawns for about 120 or so hours.

You mean modded spawns. That's messing with the game just the same, the tin can was just an example.

I got my 200K without mods easy enough. *shrugs* FO3 money is so easy to come by because you never have to really buy anything, I had some much loot I traded for practically all of a vendors useful inventory and caps and still had some left over to trade to the next guy. You get so much ammo, stimm's and gear thrown at you from practically the beginning it's ridiculous.
