I'm Getting Fallout 3 Tomorrow...

Lol don't listen to this nonsense OP. This couldn't be more of an OPINION if he tried and he's trying to pass it off as fact! Wow!

fine its not a fact but you have to admit that FNV is boring once you complete all faction endings i mean there is no exploration, dungeons, and no enemies to shoot at

The Broc Flower Cave for one. Point rendered null and moot.

I agree that reaper's comment was biased and just his opinion, however that still doesn't change the fact that frankly, the OP doesn't appear to have played New Vegas either (he says there is dual wielding and there isn't) and doesn't seem to be in a position to judge if Fallout 3 is good or not.

I don't know why I'm even bothering to post to thread started by an obvious troll looking to start yet another FO3 - NV flame war, but I just wanted to say that, after almost 200 hours of playing NV, I can authoritatively state that I have yet to come across any weapon or weapon combo that can be dual wielded.

Thats the feeling I got. It seems this threads only purpose was for someone (the OP) to vent how much they think Fallout 3 svcks, and to do it in a way that makes it look like a new fan was completely turned off by the game. The problem is, some of the reasons he gave for New Vegas being better were poor at best (and downright ridiculous in regards to the dual-wielding thing....lol). It took him what....a whole of a minute to go from "I'm getting Fallout 3 tomorrow" to "Haha Fallout 3 svcks!!"

i think the OP intended to say am not going to buy FO3 for this reason, he pointed out all the things FO3 didn't have

And NV has NO combat what so ever, if there ever was I don't see it at all.

Probably it's single biggest failure too, with meaningful exploration being a close second.

BTW, New Vegas doesn't svck for PS3. I put in a very enjoyable 80 hours.

Any New Vegas not on the PC svcks...in comparison.

But wait a minute...you can dual wield in New Vegas?

Nope.

The people who said that you could have apparently never played New Vegas. It was a feature that was considered for the game but was cut out before the final release.

Charlseton Cave, Bloodborne Cave, Black Rock Cave, Great Khan Supply Cave, Cannibal Johnson's Cave, Broc Flower Cave......I could keep going but you've already been pwned.

Edit: actually I will keep going...Dead Wind Cavern with the legendary deathclaw

The New Vegas timeline can be summarized as so:

Suspension Excitement Suspension More Suspension Disappointment

Some of those are pretty poor examples of exploration and virtually all of them are poor examples of meaningful exploration. There is really nothing in Cannibal Johnson's Cave and only some goodies in the great Khan supply cave. As for the rest, any "exploration" done in them is basically just shooting stuff up. Fallout 3, while it certainly had its "shoot em up places" did have many many places that had backstories and areas where I could feel emotionally attached to the world around me based on what I had read/seen. New Vegas accomplished something similar with its storyline, but not with its "dungeons" (in my opinion). The H n' H Tool factory is the one place that I can think of which gave me the same "Fallout 3 exploration" feel and is a good example of a "meaningful dungeon".

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying New Vegas is a bad game (hell its an amazing game) but its gameplay takes a different approach than Fallout 3's (meaning through storyline and not the world).

Coyote Den, Lake Mead Cave.....I'm going to stop now. Oh and OP, there is nothing like Vegas in Fallout 3. Just the feeling of the strip and new vegas can't be out matched. There's also nothing like Black Mountain.

I will say this just to be the devil's advocate here...

IMO: It's combat and exploration was it's biggest letdown.

Coyote Den, Lake Mead Cave.....

Same situtation with those two.

Not so much the combat (for me anyway) but certainly the exploration, and exploration was a major reason I loved Fallout 3.

Obvious multi is obvious.

Anyways yeah New Vegas, go five casinos right? Totally outmatched Fallout 3's city... And how many of the caves were actually worth going into?

yep I went through those in about 5 minutes each,

I just spent oh about half an hour in Dupont alone holding my ground against a large gang of raiders, twas quite an adventure

I'm seriously starting to doubt you've played the game, the strip was one of the biggest let downs in the game

I'd have to agree with this. New Vegas (the city) was a bit of a disappointment for me (just doesn't seem to live up to its hype) but I still am surprised with the sheer ruined beauty that is DC. Heck I ran into a place like a few weeks ago that I had never seen in a year of playing the game and exploring DC.

Don't you just love DC-based urban combat? :gun:

Fallout 3: 163 unmarked locations

New Vegas: 187 unmarked locations

These numbers are without add-ons. So where is this "better exploration"?
