I'm Getting Fallout 3 Tomorrow...

And I have a few questions thanks in advance. Can you dual wield like in New Vegas? Are there weapon mods? Companion quests? Factions you can side with? A minigame like Caravan? Can you gamble?

There are none of the above.

No. No. No. No. No. No.

Seriously. You asked six questions and you get six no's because you'll only find that stuff in New Vegas.

Thanks guys for the quick replies. Saved me money, time, and future disappointment. I'll wait for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

You disappoint me, my friend. If that is all you care about then... that is pretty sad. Sorry. Fallout 3 kicks ass regardless. Exploration along beats a good five out of six of your questions. And mods can fix all of those...

Well let's see. Combat and story are huge aspects of a game and if I'm going from dual wielding, modding weapons, and choosing a side in the story to none of that then it doesn't make me happy.

Well combat is all Fallout 3 is famed for... You go to the side of the BoS which is the only side that matters of course.

And NV has NO combat what so ever, if there ever was I don't see it at all.

If combat is all it's famed for why can't I dual wield or mod weapons?

What if I don't want to side with BoS?

Can I at least craft ammo?

I'm playing on PS3 so I can't mod.

Ok first of all, dual wield weapons... NV was based off Fallout 3 graphics and animation wise. And it is impossible to do in real life and very unrealistic. Especially after being shot in the head, no way some one could pull that off

And I must admit, Fallout 3 (And NV) svck for the PS3. Sorry for being agressive or anything but seriously, play the game before you judge based off of a 30 second comment.

It's a game. Me running around a post apocalyptic world killing deathclaws is pretty unrealistic in of itself. You're argument for no dual wield is highly flawed. So I get shot and can still shoot my rifle, but it's unrealistic to get shot and dual wield? Lol...

PS3 has been known to have the most glitches, and flaws with any game that isn't an exclusive. Of course my argument is highly flawed... it is a video game and where the hell did this come from: "So I get shot and can still shoot my rifle, but it's unrealistic to get shot and dual wield?" Wut?

And 80 hours is like the number everyone uses to express their love for the game, I'd say, since you seem pretty stubborn in the fact you won't play a game that was made two years before just because it doesn't have features such as dual wielding weapons, I'd say you have played maybe 20 hours. And on a side note, NV probably wouldn't be possible without Fallout 3, your game would have took a way longer time to develop without the base textures and animations from Fallout 3.

Plus Fallout 3 GOTY is so cheap nowadays. Some guy got it for $5 off ebay a few weeks ago. They are like $20 in regular stores, and considering a game such as Fallout 3 gives you at least 40 hours of exploration, I don't see how it would waste you money....

I put in 2000+ in fallout 3. Around 100 on my first playthrough.

and you'll miss out on A crown jewel that is Fallout 3.

....just because Fallout 3 doesn't have a few things that New Vegas had doesn't make it not worth getting.

(Also am I missing something? when was dual wielding a part of Fallout?)

Are you talking about Skyrim?

@shdow Yes New Vegas has dual wielding. Since you haven't played it I suggest you do.

No....

and I have been playing New Vegas for awhile now and am 95% sure there is no dual wielding...give me an example of weapons you can dual wield.

Edit: Just did some research and dual wielding was a feature that didn't make the final cut. There is no dual wielding

name 1 game that is realistic, lol there aren't any. to your main question, FO3 is a hell of a lot more exciting than NV there are random encounters in FO3 (unlike FNV) and more things to blow up. FO3 isn't based off boring old politics. in NV you will encounter the exact same enemy in the same place as before every time, NV is a flat empty wasteland that gets boring after 1 month.
IN the end FO3 will always be better than NV and that is a fact

Lol don't listen to this nonsense OP. This couldn't be more of an OPINION if he tried and he's trying to pass it off as fact! Wow!

I agree that reaper's comment was biased and just his opinion, however that still doesn't change the fact that frankly, the OP doesn't appear to have played New Vegas either (he says there is dual wielding and there isn't) and doesn't seem to be in a position to judge if Fallout 3 is good or not.
