So it has been announced that if you pre-order Fallout 4 you get to download a copy of Fallout 3 http://majornelson.com/2015/07/01/fallout-4-is-now-available-for-digital-pre-order-on-xbox-one/

I was wondering if anyone knew whether:

1) if you could also digital download Fallout 3 if you pre-order a hard copy of Fallout 4

2) if that download also includes all the DLC

I would assume #1 would be true, but we don't have any info on #2. I would assume that it would not come with the DLC, though.

I have a question about this too. Does the free copy for Fallout 3 only come with Xbox and Microsoft Store pre-orders or are all retail (like Amazon) pre-orders also eligible?

I haven't seen any retail offering for FO3 with pre-order.

I'll also point out that Microsoft has stated that FO3 will also be downloaded on XB1, when backward compatibility is provided. I'm guessing this is great news in that Bethesda has already signed over the rights for the transfer.

Hmm, if Fallout 3 doesn't come with all retail pre-orders, I may just get the PC or PS4 version instead. I rarely buy from the Xbox store because I prefer to have hard copy games in case I want to sell or trade them.

Oh okay thanks! I may just go PC then, if a digital copy of Fallout 3 isn't coming with non MS sourced hard copy pre-orders of Fallout 4.

The Pre-order edition is strictly for digital versions on the xbox one. I for one hope that my GOTY edition of Fallout 3 allows me to install all the dlcs on my Xbox one.
