Getting Jyggy with it.

Post » Wed Jul 20, 2011 10:37 am

Since the events of the Shivering Isles, can we assume that Jyggalag is now an established Daedric prince? Will he have cultists in Skyrim? Will we find a shrine to him?

What is his artifact?

Also, what will Sheogorath be like?

I believe he is back to being a proper Daedric Prince now, hopefully they add a shrine for him =) and i believe Sheogorath will be the same manic/demented person he always has been.

Also, I think Jyggy and Sheogorath were the same entity. That's what I got from the storyline anyways.

For the record, this thread has a great title.

And I hope that Jyggalag and Sheogorath are both in, along with every other Daedric Prince. It just wouldn't be the same without them, and it wouldn't make too much sense to exclude Jyggalag after that huge quest involving him. That would just be silly, even if Lore DID support it.

Yeah, I know. That's why I asked what he would be like.

What sort of mad god would bendu olo make?

And obviously while Sheogorath and Jyggalag were the same person, now that the champion of cyrodil has taken up the mantle of madness it's fair to say he's on his own, now.

Seriously, those replies were not helpful.

Jyggalag is an interesting Daedric Prince, because we know that the Daedra represent Chaos and change, yet he is the Prince of Order. But his order is kind of Chaotic and unnatural, because it turns everything gray, plain, stony, and cold. It would be very interesting to see a cult set up for him in Skyrim. A group of individuals who wished that Order would dominate over what they perceive to be madness presenting itself through the civil war and the return of dragons.

We know that the Champion of Cyrodil became the Prince of Madness and I imagine he or she changed into that form and it would be nice to see a cult for him and have it fight with the cult of Jyggalag.

yeah the whole champion becoming sheogorath thing always seemed kinda clumsy to me. i would have much preferred that the ending not refer to me as a daedric prince. especially since i could visit the shrine to the real sheogorath by leaving the Isles.

maybe i wouldve cared for Jyggalag more if he hadnt killed himself on my reflect 101% damage armor. What a moron. you would think the Daedric Prince of Order would've been a little less of a pushover...

What an awesome post. TES lore is wonderful. This would be fun to see in game.

I wonder if Champo McCyrodiil transforms into Sheogorath. I got the impression that others had been Sheogorath before as well. Not the Mad-God title, but the physical being.

Honestly, I am hoping the Daedra in general are somewhat downplayed this time, so that we may have more focus towards the gods and the dragons...which generally are less explored.

good point / mildly concur. not so much excluding or downplaying the daedric deities but giving them worthy counterpoints in game would be nice for sure.

knights of the nine was about an ancient crusaders quest to destroy Umaril.

and you have to beat him again.

sure you have to visit the wayshrines and get the "artifacts"
but it basically just told you what every god was about.

coolness factor comparison between 9 and their wayshrines and the daedric shrines is WAAAAAAY unbalanced

plus the armor was meh. hated the batly helmet. i was actually pissed i was forced to wear it.

Considering that the Champion of cyrodiil became the new/current sheogorath or atleast that's what the general belief is. Beth would have to figure out a new model and voice for them, unless becoming the Mad God just makes you look sound and act like sheogorath is expected to act...in which case is doesn't really matter that the Champion became sheogorath.

As for Jyygalag i know next to nothing about him outside of him being the daedric prince of order...he didn't have shrines in any previous games from what i can remember, but it's been 200 years maybe some people started to remember him.

Maybe you shouldn't play with 101% reflect on? Makes the game terribly boring imo.

I only found out about Bendu Olo today, and I already hate it.

BENDU OLO IS A DEAD KING. HE IS NOTHING LIKE THE HERO OF OBLIVION. IN LORE, THE PC OF OBLIVION IS CALLED THE HERO OF OBLIVION.

But really I would be disapointed if he wasn't in.

On a related note, how do you put in spoilers?

Jyggalag was awesome. A surprising break, that wasn't entirely unwelcome. However, I don't know if he'll have a shrine or followers A) Because when the Champion freed him, Jyggy sai he would "wander the waters of Oblivion once more"; this makes sense, considering the Shivering Isles were once His realm, and since he split his identity, he technically has no realm; b: If the Greymarch was only every thousand years, wouldn't it stand to reason that most of Tamriel wouldn't know about him? As much as I'd like to see him, there is no lore-based evidence we will. Unfortunate as it is.

I'm expecting our new Sheogorath to change forms and voices often or at least that's where my brain went instantly when I beat S.I. and thought about the next game. I'm hoping Sheo is even weirder now to support many possible personalities.

Whatever happens I hope the new Sheogorath is unique in their own way so that it does feel like something changed and I hope they at least reference things that the Champion experienced before going insane in one of their rambles.

However now that I think about it I wouldn't be shocked if the new Sheogorath disappeared. That's pretty much what has happened with every hero from the games. That would make me much more sad, however. Sheogorath was always a great palate cleanser and game personality.

As for Jyggalag? I think it will be pretty straight forward. He'll have his own shrine and followers. Maybe we'll get to visit his new plane.
