getting kinda board with it

Well see i ended up having to restart my profile on fallout 3, and i'm doing one of the first missions in the game. The mission is, i'm not exactly sure what the name is, where you have to help the chick make a book in Megaton. Anyways i'm on chapter 2 where you go to Rivet City and figure out the history. Well you get an Optional mission that says *Figure out the true history of Rivet City*. I have no idea where i need ot go or who i need to talk too. the women in the Muddy Rutter told me about a man who is "held up" on the other side of the ship. Well what i want to know is how do i get there?

thanks

Leave Rivet City and follow the shoreline west towards the back, broken off part of the ship. You should find a pathway across the water to a door. It's got a 100 lock and if you can't pick it, jump in the water and swim toward the inhabited half of the ship. When you reach the split, look for an underwater door. Once inside, beware of traps and mirelurks.

I believe that is actually Chapter 3 of the quest.
Anyways, the wiki has a walkthrough for the entire quest. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/The_Wasteland_Survival_Guide (scroll down about half way to see Chapter 3)

Some of the people in Rivet City will give you clues, mainly Belle Bonny.
SW of the main part of the ship is the other section. You can swim under to a door, or open a Very Hard door from the land.
